I didn't get to watch the Naft game after the 1st 20 minutes 'cause I had to run out to a meeting, but looking at the highlights what a TERRIBLE penalty call that was.

You could not possibly do a worse hand-ball call if you tried. Ball to hand, no intent, hands in natural position, less than 2' away from the ball, intentionally kicked at the player's hand!

These fcuking oriental refs are killing us in the ACL.

Honestly Arab refs are probably better than these East Asian refs. Ben Williams, Korean refs, they all suck. Only that one Japanese ref vs UAE was good.

Damn! Al-Shabab was beating Pakhtakor at home 1-0, but Pakhtkor tied the game (which would have been good for Naft) and now they've taken the lead 2-1 with less than 10 minutes to go.

That's going to make it almost impossible for Naft to catch up to Pakhtakor, but it makes the race for 2nd place closer.

Having said that Naft will be in a do or die when they take on Al-Shabab at home in 2 weeks' time.

With PAG gone, I expected Naft to struggle for a couple of weeks until they found their footing again. Hopefully, they'll get the must-win in match day 3 and at least take 2nd place with 2/3rd of their home games gone.

Al-Ain will have a tough away match at Pakhtakor which they will hopefully lose or tie.

Al-Shabab tie the game! 2-2, 84th minute. That keeps things a lot closer.

P.S. And that's the final result for that game.

Naft only 3 points adrift of 1st place and 1 point off second after a pretty poor start. So, they're still in it, but do absolutely need the home win against Al Shabab next week if they're going to have any chance of advancing from this group.

The real ridiculous claim is to say that Omar Abdul Rahman is Asian Messi and we should fear him and if we don't park it up he will punish us etc etc.

Well, I think I have found one:

* Flores was a Spain U-21 player.
* Nam has been a S. Korea national team player
* Weiss has been a Slovakia national team player.
* Msakni has been a Tunisia national team player.
Also, they've been in the QSL for 5 years and have won it 3 out of 4 times!
But overall, this isn't just a case of an IPL team beating a team from another Persian Gulf area league.
It's about IPL's 9th placed team demolishing QSL's best team.

Someone here must be really sad that his super-duper Qatari team has been rather disappointing so far. But hey, there are still four games to go. I am sure Lekhwiya is going to prove everyone wrong and win not only the ACL, but the FIFA Club World Cup, too.
