Khak too sareshoon. They installed a million dollar heating and drainage system underneath only to cover it with a pitch that was apparently already rotting when they wanted to install it.

          Iranian management at its best.

Looking forward to watching Team Melli play in Naghshe Jahan.

Who knows, maybe even our final WCQ match vs Syria.

According to Wiki the cost of this stadium was only $20m, sounds like a bargain if true, however took 5 years to finish such a relatively small stadium which is typical in today's Iran

but still for Iranian standard, it looks pretty decent and should be enough for games against "minor" opponents..

Agreed,.. I doubt the $20m figure though, a proper pitch alone should be at least $1m alone

Wiki is a bad source sometimes. Stadium like this can range from 100 million to 300 million all in.
Most of it has been ready for 1.5 years actually - just some typical gonde laat bazi on compliance and inauguration.

well e.g. Rapid Vienna's new stadium costs are estimated around €53m....

so perhaps 20-30m might be a presumable value of the AQR stadium...

Keep in mind that labor and raw materials like concrete, steel, etc are much cheaper in Iran than somewhere like Austria
