It's sad that this is technically considered an improvement from his last club. I wish he'd just leave and focus on developing his skills not his wallet (he can focus on this later in his career)
Mission accomplished for Qatar, they have got all of our best players now. One day we will get to a point where there will be one Iranian player in each QSL teams.
Btw as I said you can be sure that Gucci's club career is screwed and all of you should stop hoping a return to Europe, I am also 80% sure that Gucci's next destination after Qatar will be Iran (which is certainly better than Kuwait and Qatar) and there his European career will be officialy done.
Ashkan is close to be in the same situation but considering he is still a level above Reza, he might find something which I doubt he wants to, he will probably continue to vulture the Arab money as well.
The worst move was probably Ashkan's though as so many Iranian players and teens must be looking up to him and it will be a terrible, terrible example for them which will certainly not help motivating our players to go to Europe.
damn, he's really after money isn't he. sometimes I wonder what would have happened if he would have gone to an eredivise team instead of Charlton. I think that's where his biggest mistake in his career was, I don't believe he would have wound up in the middle east this soon had he chose Holland initially.

Guys, we don't really know what's happening. I highly doubt he had any other offers and was obviously very unhappy in Kuwait. He's still under contract with Charlton until the end of next season, so I'm assuming he just signed up here to run out his contract.
It's true that as fans we want to see our idols in europe but let's face it we are not in their shoes and don't have to put food on their families tables, they got the right to chose.
Players going to qatar leagues are really borderline and feel happier that likes of Azmoon, JB, Haghighi and ezatollahi are europe-based.

Form goodness sake, a player needs to have ambition.

I agree with you 67%!
While you are very right on ambition of a player, that I agree with, I have to object one point though!
Its a difference between a 20 year old player and a 28 year old.
A younger player like Jahanbakhsh or Azmoun need to take the tough road to get better... i.e. not for money but to play in a hard competitive league and work hard.
But there comes an age in a sportsman's life (which is a short life anyway) that money does matter.
How much was he making at Charlton? I dont think much. He has a life, a family to support and most importantly he has (and he does) think about 4-5 years from now when he retires! What does he have? He needs security and financial stability. All these things are going on in their heads when they reach 28,29, 30....
And we cannot blame them for that!
We as fans always want the best out of each player when they are active, but when they retire, we actually dont give a damn what happens to them.
Thats not fair.
Its their life, and they are not the property of TM or TM's fans. So long as they are needed and perfrom they will be invited to TM, and if not, they won't. But what they do with their life and financial pre-planings before they retire is 100% their right to do so!
