I don't like the fact either that he plays in qatar, but, at the end of the day, just like the rest of us, he will have bills to pay, and having 4 million in the bank is much better than having none. At 28, there is no more upside to his game, so for the remaining years left, his game will be going downwards. This is his last chance at making sure he does not end up working at McDonald.
My 2 careers were completely different and none of my past experience played in roll in it. You give good advice of people (including soccer players of course) getting a degree that will assist them in future employment.
I could have made a ton more money than I'm making now and in fact I would have retired by now but i turned it down as it went against my principles. I'd like to think our players are better than the guy who wanted to give koon for $200,000.
I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.

I don't know if a lot of you are jealous, or "patriotic" or something.
The guy will probably play for another 6-7 years, it only makes sense for him to gather money for the rest of his life.

If I was a footballer, I wouldn't be jealous for going to Kuwait and Qatar.

Also the guy was raised in Europe and doesn't suffer from Arab love-hate issue

Would you give koon for $200,000 if you thought you couldn't get a good job and you didn't wanna work at McDonalds?

I don't really care if some of our players go to Arab leagues, although I obviously prefer to see them all play in Europe. What I don't understand is why they sign up with relegation zone teams.

There are currently some good coaches in the Qatar Stars Leagues and they have a couple of teams in the ACL which will get more money and exposure. Signing up for such teams would have been okay IMHO in the absence of a European or better offer.

But what exactly is the point of signing up for a team for 18 months when they may be playing in the 2nd division of Qatar next season?! We now have 4 Iranian players (3 TM players) playing in the bottom 3 teams in Qatar - that's RIDICULOUS!!!

Your analogy makes no fucking sense.

Refusal to give an answer implies you would but are too ashamed to admit it.

i understand why he would do it, it was only a couple of years ago he was 2nd div in hollland and wasnt getting a go and career looked dead. So why not cash out now while you can, but in the same breathe why throw all that hard work in the toilet.

Either way, im done with him.

                            You're done with him?

Only until he scores another 90th minute game saver right? Or another clutch goal to take us to the World Cup? Or scores in the World Cup again?

Why does his club matter? He has delivered everything we could ask and more whenever he has put on a TM jersey

                              Ando jan,

I think he is talking in terms of club football. In club football, I am also done with him since I have no hope in seeing Gucci going back to Europe which is quite sad IMO. For god sake, a footballer needs to have ambition. And being a first choice striker of Team Melli it's absolutely not OK to waste your time in two joke of a leagues Kuwait and Qatar.

And yes he has delivered every time for Team Melli, and I appreciate that. We all do, but his career is going down the drain due to bad decisions.

From being a top scorer in Belgium's highest league to getting loaned to some Qatari relegation zone club! This hurts.

Mind you Nene just signed with West Ham after playing with Al-Gharafa, so there's that
