Pouraliganji will probably return to iran when his contract ends with tianjin within a week

    Comment

PAG is not at his best shape since AC 15. He loves Persepolis and Persepolis needs CB after Bengar leaves. I like to see him play in DMF not CB.
Another Iranian footballer coming from China with memories of injuries and hunger (due to our vast differences in food culture).
      1. Shahroodi (Dalian)
      2. Someone who I forgot his name ()
      3. PAG (Tianjin Teda)
This proves that Chinese league is not appropriate for Iranian talents unless they consider the precaution and find a good source for their diets. We cannot stand Asian sea food and sea market. The smell drives us all away. We have to eat chicken all the times since Chinese food is dominated with pork or sea food.

I would disagree with the diet. My wife is Chinese and many Chinese dishes taste just fine and some even close to Persian food.

I posted my suggestion and prediction regarding PAG transfer on Bigsoccer forum in Feb 25.
I did some research on CSL and the club Pouraliganji is joining, as it was expected, Tianjin Teda, is a middle table team in CSL and has struggled in this position for past 4 years. They have 13 old players (over 28) specially in defense and forward positions. All their significant new arrivals or possible hot shots are over 29 except Pouraliganji who is 22.
He is most likely going to be a replacement for their 36 year old international veteran CB (center back) Weifeng Lee. If so, he is going to work with another new CB arrival the Brazillian Lucas Fonseca (29). As it is obvious Teda had serious defense problem during the last season with receiving 44 goals (the highest number since the club establishment in 1956). They are not that bad at offensive positions.
            Advantage:
1.He will be playing in CB position in his team.

            Disadvantage:
1.He is the youngest meaningful player in his team (specially defense) so there will be more pressure on him to move the team, or run more if other players are slow.
2.His team most likely will be among middle table again (might slightly be better compared to previous season)
            3. No international (non-asian) exposure
            More info:
They have hired a good Argentinian center forward, Hernan Barcos (30), but I can not see many impressive MDs to feed him so we will see the outcome later. (Usually not enough feeding FW = not many goals).
There is this one guy, Andrezinho, a fair 31 year old Brazillian attacking MD who most likely be behind their offensive plans.
Comparing them to other big wigs in CSL, Tianjin Teda has slim chances to be among top 3-4 to gain AFC champions league slot for next year, which means literally no exposure to European recruiters. So if his goal was moving to Europe through CSL he has made a mistake. In other hand, if he plays as a regular CB he can get more international experience playing in a foreign land. I just hope the level of matches are at the same level as IPL and he does not get injured.
A possible way to measure the level of CSL:
From what I saw in Shandong Luneng (4th place in CSL) match against Vietnamese representative BBD, Shandong barely won the match and was dominated by Vietnamese side, although they had 3 Brz and 1 Arg players and look a lot better than Tianjin Teda on the paper.

Here is my early finding and prediction. not bad I say.

He lost his position in Persepolis and national team very soon and was forced to end his career early.

Hopefully if Pouraliganji plays to his potential 1-2 seasons in Iran he can go to Europe, like Hajsafi.

Would be much easier if he was younger though, since if he participated in our youth teams his chances of being spotted by European clubs would be bigger.

Baba joon, please don't go back to Iran!

perfect timing, right around the transfer window for both IPL and Europe. I hope he can get an offer for at least 6 month to go to europe.

He gained absolutely nothing by leaving Iran for China as expected and even lost his starting place with TM. I hope he will go to Europe in the near future but right now I feel it's quite unlikely, he basically wasted 1 year of football.

I agree, turned out to be a dumb decision. had so much hope for him going to Europe.

While surprisingly there was a lot of positive reactions here after the announcement of his move, but it was just so obvious that this was going to be a bad move, to me at least. Which player goes to China as an intermediary for Europe? Even the few random below average Chinese players that go there is thanks to their own brand partnerships and sponsors in Europe.

It was always going to happen. But if he tries to come back and performs the next few years we can still hope for him to be scouted by
European teams, he's a CB and 25-26 is still not too old if he shows that he's ready.

For now my hopes are on Kanaani who's even younger and already showed motivation to going abroad (his loan to Beira-Mar which was canceled because of work permit problems), I see him as a big potential CB for the future, as PL said PAG should be switched back to DM.

i do not think it was a bad move. just the fact that he tried to go abroad albeit to China league he gets props in my books!! He could have been another dime in a dozen IPL players opt to say in the league and get a fat contract in iran but decided to go of all places China!! that shows me he takes risks and is willing to take on a challenge. if he just wanted an easy money and life he could have gone to the persian gulf countries but he choose a country that is totally different.
i do not think i was all lost, in fact I think it was a good learning experience for him and if another situation comes he will be most likely try to take on than pass on it!!

I wouldn't doubt his motivation for going abroad any second. He clearly expressed his will of going to Europe and somehow using his China transfer as "a bridge" to get there, but the move itself was a total failure and it would be difficult to say otherwise. Not only his team are on the verge of being relegated in the freaken Chinese league, but Morteza also clearly lost his TM starting place as well, not to forget the most important thing of course that he didn't even earn a European transfer and will be back to the IPL. I see this as a step backwards personally, a real shame since he looks like a really promising player.

Financially speaking, remember that we are speaking about the Chinese league, where the wages are extremely similar to Qatar and UAE, and foreign players especially earn a huge amount of money (although domestic players also earn a lot). Morteza has been earning 1.5 million $ this year with Tianjin if I remember correctly, which is easily a "fat contract" itself, and definitely more than what he earned with Naft. So he didn't actually give anything up on money, if anything it was an improvement in that aspect.

Nevertheless I hope that he will find a European team in the upcoming years, I'm pretty sure it will happen if he performs at his best.

His contract is 500k in transfermarkt.com and I heard he had to pay like 40% tax in Chinese league. I think Financially it was also a disaster for him. He could get paid more in Naft. The only thing I was really worried about was if he sustains any major injury or not which apparently it didn't happen. He is coming in one piece and that is the most important thing. I hope he finds the opportunity to show himself once more. He needs his mother to make good food for him and makes him fat for the time being! He should regain his solid fitness back pretty soon.
