Well, whether we agree with the law or not, he did break it by deciding to visit a brothel. His ban was much harsher initially, but if I am not mistaken he only missed playing football for 1.5 years. He just never got the conditioning back, and his stints during his Iran ban outside the country were non-existent (he traveled to Greece and Turkey hoping to land a contract).

        so injuries and now sarbazi...??

man that kid was a damn promising Lwinger/forward..!!

Had that French team trial worked out, we woulda by now had a very Rare, lethal Left winger, opposite of ARJ/Dejagha..!! throw Azmoun as CF...!! Boom go for classic wing and cross old english football..!!

He performed well. That was just because of AFCs incompetent referees.

Over rated. Kranchar didn't believe in him at all. Alireza Rahimi Sepahan's CEO bought him without Kranchar's approval & Kranchar used him for 1 or 2 games and then put him on the bench. Once he was on the bench he started to interview & talk BS. Unprofessional footballer.

Sorush Rafiei is the next Arash Afshin... Great prospects who became victims of a mismanaged system. Then we ask why Iran can't win an Asian Cup in 40 years, while Germany wins 3 World Cups in 40 years.

well, you just proved that he due to the obvious conflict of interests, he wasnt given a proper chance in Sepahan and was unfairly benched, by a coach who didnt want him there to begin with and was looking for an excuse to permanently bench him..!!
he was obviously put in a effed up situation, and you blame him for voicing his frustration and question his quality and call him unprofessional..!!
it wasnt like he forced himself on sepahan
it seems more like, he was signed by the mgmt and coach who didnt fancy him to begin with ensured his failure in his team.

not that i follow ipl much nor Afshin's domestic form and play...!! i only saw 2-3.?? games max from this kid, but i was impressed nonetheless..!!
he was tall, physically very strong for his age, fast, good footwork and movements with or w/o the ball, heads up approach and still quiet young..!!
barring injuries, sarbazi and other irani league partybazi and other bs drama, that kid was very likely going to become a very good tm prospect..!!

First it started with injuries. When he recovered he was invited to TM, but at the same time was on a trial for a French club team, so it put his TM presence on hold. The trial didn;t work out, and when he returned he was injured again and missed quite a large portion of the season.

Finally as it looked like he was getting healthy, and was back in Foolad, the sarbazi problems started and now he is out for the year.

                      damn...

He was given a chance (3 starts) and didn't impress. If you look at his numbers at Foolad the season before he joined Sepahan, they were far from impressive also.

mobali, borhani, nikbakht, madanchi etc etc and now afshin were never that talented to begin with. true talent rises to the top, injuries are a part of the game. these players were all hyped by fans and media but i never watched a single one of them and thought that they were at the level of an azizi, kia, daei, dejagah etc.

Missing 75% of three seasons is not really part of the game.

At any important point in either TM or his club's season, he was unable to play. Kind of hard to rise to the top in that situation.

^^ By that time Afshin was already on the downhill. His best two seasons where the two years right before AC 2011. I thought later on he did not have the mental toughness, motivation, or discipline to transform his youth talent into becoming a solid grown up player. Having the right kind of coaching in that transition juncture is necessary, but he was not getting that either.
