Haghighi or Beiranvand?

I saw the game, but he needs consistency. Having one good game doesn't mean he is really really good, but then again I might be wrong too. Because one bad game every GK has, even the best ones! But I am just sharing my concerns, I want the best for TM. I think Haghighi is the right GK for now, he had a good WC and not a bad AC.

Consistency???? Cmon man you're sounding sillier and sillier by the post, there probably isn't a more consistent player or GK in the league more than beiranvand. He's been beyond brilliant and the backbone of this naft team that has played so well over the last few years. Perhaps you should start following naft games before making such outlandish claims.

Lets just be thankful that we have competing options in the GK position, which was not the case before.

I didn't say Haghighi's bad guys, I said his psyche has been spiraling down.

You can't just judge a keeper by what he didn't do (i.e. his performance in the Iraq game was TERRIBLE), but also what he did/does. He didn't really have to do much in any other AC games where we'd look at this performance and say wow he made some exceptional saves.

He has been struggling with crosses in Panafiel and again, other than 2 or 3 games where he has had a very good performance there, he hasn't done anything noteworthy. And of course there's the issue of this last red card which I'm taking into account.

Unfortunately, he's very much reminding me of Davari. Where he was an excellent goalie, ended up playing in a bottom placed team in the 1st tier and he never recovered from that really.

Again, not saying he's bad (neither is Davari), but he's definitely not getting better.

Beiranvand is decent but i would go with Haghighi. He handed the Uzbek team 3 points...

I voted for Haghighi for now. But the more important point to me is that I am happy that for once we have two great and young keeper prospects at the same time for our National team. I wish them both great career as Keepers. They both have good physique and flexibility. I hope that Beeravand also moves to Europe for experience.

Beiranvand had a few exceptional saves against Al ain Today

Very good saves... Beiranvand's movements give me Abedzadeh reflections from sometime around 1988. Al Ain had to beat him on a PK. Also what is highly important is that Beiranvand is getting regular play time, instead of bench-warming in a second-string European club.

Haghighi was a great keeper as well before joining Rubin Kazan. After joining a Russian club, he was usually on the bench and next year he came back to Persepolis but he lost his shape also his former position to another keeper, so he went back to Kazan and rest is history (Portugal second division)

Haghighi has improved since the wc... He moves a lot better on his feet. In the WC it seemed his feet were concrete blocks. He's been pretty consistent in his effectiveness on set pieces. I think his confidence, and conditioning has vastly improved. As of now it is Haghighi's to lose. However, Haghighi's weakness is penalties. I'd sub him out if the game ends up in PKs... similar to what the netherlands do with Krul and Cillessen. I think if Haghighi stays in europe, maintains his conditioning and confidence, then he should be NT keeper for another 3 years.

It doesn't seem like either are getting playing time in their clubs? Goalies need to be playing every week to stay sharp this can really effect their performance. I would still go with Haghighi, but for Guam we don't really have a choice. I would actually rather see Sosha playing vs Guam since he is experienced and playing regularly

Both are great. But I believe as good as Alireza is, Beiranvand has more potential.

Since Abedzadeh's retirement, we've always struggled with GK position, but now we've got at least couple of promising goalies.

Beiranvand has been very impressive in the last couple of years,he appears very confident and safe, possess amazing reflexes and launches dangerous attacks with long balls.

I hope he follows Alireza's footsteps in Europe.

Not true! There were many others after Abedzadeh who were fine keepers such as Nakisa, Tababataei, Mirzapour, Roudbarian, Rahmati, Gordan, Ahmadi. However all these keepers apart from Mirzapour and Rahmati were not given much opportunity to wear the keeping gloves.

Let's be realistic Haghighi does not possess basic goalkeeping skills and to his credit he did play well against Nigeria and Argentina in the World Cup, however he plays like a Volleyballer. I'm very much for Beiranvand to take the #1 place right now.

As I have been always saying, Beiranvand is the best available Iranian keeper right now (IMO, Rahmati is still the best Iranian keeper by far but we know the story, he retired), the issue now is that for whatever reason he is not playing in the league anymore after his incident with Mansourian, same with Haghighi who is Rubin's benchwarmer.

Right now, I'd say that Akhbari is the best and most consistent performer among our keepers and he also has great potential, and I would start him vs Guam I am sure he will do more than fine. But on a regular day, Beiranvand is our best keeper and I believe that he has a great, great potential. We can be quite reassured for the GK position with those two guys coming up

And unless Haghighi saves his career with a decent move somewhere where he gets regular play time, I do not see any future for him in TM
