surprise, surprise ... CQ refuses to play Italy

I think I read somewhere that we have to pay the cost of the camp for the Chile game, but there was no mention of the game itself - same for Sweden.

Get real, asking 1.5 million for one game where they will probably field their B players too is not worth it. I prefer to play teams like Tunisia, Egypt or New-Zealand instead.

CQ has refused to play any strong teams. It can be due to his formation and tactics fall apart under strong teams and reveals his weaknesses. Remember the game with guinea? They won 2-1
This thread reminds me of when an article was posted here about CQ asking to play Australia instead of South Korea, saying we had already played the Koreans recently and he thought Australia would be a better alternative. Some people here completely ignored the part where he asked for Australia, and took the part about not wanting Korea and turned it into "evidence" that CQ is too afraid to play big teams and they ran with it for months
This is the type of nonsense that makes people fed up and causes those long arguments. There isn't really a "pro-CQ" camp. It's more like the rest of us versus one small but annoying group who've decided for the dumbest reasons that they really really don't like this coach, and lacking objectivity, intellectual honesty, or even basic understanding of football, they cherry pick and distort every piece of news and every result to fit this bias. And when they're not doing that, they just contradict themselves from one post to the next: They spend half the time ranting about bowing down to foreigners, then they act upset because we won't pay Italians any amount they ask for! In one thread they argue CQ's tactics are meant for big teams and won't work against small teams, in the next thread they insist CQ won't play big teams because his tactics fall apart against big teams!
Now you can read all this nonsense and ignore it, or you can confront it which just leads to twelve pages of them twisting themselves into a pretzel to hold on to their position. And since spending a Saturday doing that is about as joyful as trying to argue about evolution with the Taliban, I'll just log off for the weekendPeace out, and yes I know: park the bus lulz CQ is god lol.

They think that we never have a chance to play them because they see us as a minor in football. Therefore they ask for such a ridiculous price.
But we are a team that regularly has a chance making it to the World Cup where we can face them in the group stages too.
I say good on our federation if we decline this offer.

How ironic that DD appears once every couple of months, and when he does, the contribution turns out in such interesting fashion
As many other fair and balanced members pointed out, it is useless to pay 1.5 Million (US dollars or Euro?) to a pretty much second rated world team, and yes I definitely don't believe the current Italy team is within the top 10 teams. Not to mention the way DD worded and misquoted was absolutely milseading and improper!Last edited by Keano; 03-14-2015, 10:29 AM.

Not to mention that if it wasn't for the traffic and clicks the Devilish Doktor's controversial threads generate, we would be seeing KC Doubling Down on his Donation Demands (all double D's - coincidence? I tink not)!!!

Here is a better question for you, how did Guinea, or Orlando Pilates prepare us for Argentina? How did it prepare us for Bosnia?

Italy is probably not even top 15 right now, and they demand that kind of cash lol. Chile is much better than them, I wonder how much we pay them?.

CQ mindset and tactics are like Diego Simeone of Atletico Madrid. While Diego Simeone is a lot better than him. One rather simple (not prime example) example of weakness of this style is revealed in this video when Atletico Madrid played ultra defensive and managed to score only one goal and defend it 90 min. Real found the way to goal and scored left and right and won the game 4-1. Atletico couldn't even answer one goal because all they had was defensive midfielder and defense.
