^Excellent observation. I tried to rep, but must spread it around!

In regards to Taromi, I said it early on when they hype started. He needs to prove consistency first, being in PP is not enough.

The hype died down a bit and he and PP were not doing well until a few games ago he had a nice assist.

Point is, just because someone has a few good games, doesn't mean they belong in TM.

I doubt its anything deep like that as you saw poladi was sent off, we conceded three goals from left hand side. you like him or not he is the best left back we had for years and CQ believes in him. most likely his sarbazi issue is not sorted yet hence CQ can't include him

our lack of european players is hurting us in many ways, including, actions on the field that are just not too smart.

It's too bad, because even in the AC, he showed he is one of the best left backs in Iran, and I think CQ and possibly team members place partial blame on him for our loss in the AC.

When are we going to see a generation change in TM?

          After WC? No

          After Asian cup? No

          After these friendless? ....

What's funny is that CQ said the reason why he didn't introduce younger players into TM for Asian Cup was because of lack of quality friendly matches. And now this....

Without knowing when the youth team will have its first match I can only say somethign based on what I know.

If CQ thinks there is little tim to test players then he should know that jB and Sardar are good and they need no more tests. As for Shojai and Heidari they have also been tested and they have done poorly. So the chances should be given to the unknown and the young to blend with the rest for 2018.
So Taremi is one for sure and the other is Abedini who desrve to be there. Those two will with gucci and dej and the rest will be like earthquake upon the opponent.
Definitely CQ is trying to play hard ball. He is mad for varius reasons and te portuguese anger is showing itself. He is bright and respectable coach but from the players list and the logic that he used that defeats his own argument I can see he is trying to get even with someone making him mad. He was hired to lead the youth team as well. Maybe he is still feeling sorry for vingada who was a real failure.

If he thinks he needs to test sardar and Jb then something is wrong. Sardar is the future of the front line and JB did not do well in Asian cup so he can be given to the youth team. CQ does not need both of them for the friendly match and he cannot use little heidari against a fast team. Those nokhodoi boys seem to be called for every match.....

Although this is just a rumor, it's possible that CQ will leave TM after these two matches. So it might make sense that he would just invite the players that are familiar with his "park the bus" tactic so he can get some results here and leave on a high note.

I honestly hope, Queiroz leaves and I never see him anywhere near Iran, he doesn't give a damn about our national teams anyway. He defies Kafashian, doesn't allow Azmoun and Jahanbakhsh to help our Omid team reach the Olympics and cancels a friendly against Italy so we can go to South Africa and play against 3 shitty clubs.. FFS!
CQ has some flaws but still better than our corrupted IFF or lairs who lurk around the football federation.

I don't think my comments were in any way disrespectful, sarcastic or offensive to you to generate that kind of response. If you found them uninspiring and same-old more-old, then by all means please set the tone with a fresh approach and some inspiring comments to follow and build on.

I think that fresh approach could have been actually addressing the points I brought up by saying somethings like "you are incorrect, our team is actually younger than the WC and AC squads" or "I think it's great that CQ picked JB and Azmoun to air out IFF's dirty laundry in public" or "we don't have any young talented strikers and AM's in IPL, so the inclusion of Shojaei, Heydari and Karim makes total sense", etc.
My comment wasn't mainly targeted at you, I just took your bold statement trying to express my frustration (hence the sarcasm) about the following, always repeated, string of actions.

                      - Queiroz announces a conservative list with many experienced players
                      - The usual suspects cry out loud about the conservative list
                      - We do well and everyone is satisfied
                      - Queiroz announces a conservative list...
                      ...

Always the same. We know the results are what matters, we know in advance he'll never call up an experimental young squad and we meanwhile know he knows what he's doing. Do we really have to have the same discussion every few weeks?

There is a possibility if you read the Iranian media you get that feeling. I felt it even before CQ meeting with Asadi. I saw he was insisting so much on Sardar and JB, and this list is very suspicious. Using Hiedari and injured Sadeghi, Ansarifard... I was looking forward to see more young talent being introduced but CQ switched back to his old formation.

Sorry Martin jaan, I don't at all agree with the notion of "we do well and everyone is satisfied". As far as I'm concerned, we just finished our worst Asian Cup campaign EVER with a 6th place finish and our WC performance was the 2nd worst EVER.

If results are what matters as you're suggesting and I do fully agree, that's hardly anything to be satisfied about. And neither was the 1st loss to Iraq or any team outside the top 4 seeded teams in the tournament in nearly 20 years.

Some of us are willing to overlook these FACTS sometimes to maintain as much a positive attitude about TM as we can, but let's not distort them and make it look like we've actually been achieving some sort of greatness.

Plus, I'm not just going by my desire to test out some young new players, that's what CQ himself said was the purpose of friendlies and the reason for our failure in these tournaments.

Sure, we didn't have enough friendlies before the Asian Cup for that to happen, but here are a couple of decent back to back friendlies with plenty of time before we face a strong opposition in an international tournament, so what's the problem now?

Surely you must agree that we do need to make a bit of a transition from the old to the new at some point and since that doesn't seem to be happening, it's ntural for the discussion to come up now IMHO.

I'm just wondering, do you personally see any benefit in inviting a 30+ year old uncapped player like Gordani to replace Rafei from the last squad and ahead of a player like Narimanjahan? Or an out of form on the bench Karim who hasn't got a starting role in TM for quite some time ahead of IPL's top Iranian goalscorer (Shahbazzadeh)?

And I'm not being rhetorical, maybe there are some benefits and you see them, but I'm obviously failing to connect the dots.

Just tell us what we gain out of this friendlies if most of these oldies won't be in our future squad? Javad is gone, Khosro is useless, Sadeghi or Beikzadeh(one was enough because of Pooladi absence and we could use a younger player on this post). Instead of Karim he could call Taromi, Shahbazian, Sharifi and now that Sardar may not make it to senior team, those names makes more sense. Khalatbari could help the team as well he is still one of few play maker we have in IPL.
