The main problem now is if IFF wants to bring a foreign coach again, no matter how good he is, it will take time until he gets the hang of how things work in Iran, learn about Iranian players etc... But then again the teams we will be facing in the first step of WCQ are not strong and would give room for any coach to experiment new tactics. I predict IFF will hire an Iranian coach, which in the circumstances I think would be the best decision as it will avoid losing adaptation time.

Without any doubt, we are not in the best situation right now, I am against many of CQ's decisions however it would've been better if he stayed our coach. Let's see how things work out, no need to create drama left and right. TM comes before everything and TM comes before Queiroz, no one should forget that.

CQ was not really dedicated to the job and frankly tactically not the right coach for Iran. I am still hurting from the Bosnia (World Cup) and Iraq (Asian Cup) losses, and how he screwed up the minute he tried to try anything other than a defensive counter-attacking football.
You are right, Faraki will make us play offensive tiki taka football a la Spain with Lionel Khalatbari and Sergio Rahmati just like he did with Foolad last ACL.

Faraki is the worse. He F'ed up Sepahan & now you want him to F up TM.

He has grown quite a bit since the Russian game, and would likely want a head coach title which is ridiculous given how inexperienced he is. Mansourian, and Golmohamadi are both good, young, up and coming coaches with respectable TM records as players. But it's 10 years too early for either of them to stand at the helm of TM. They need to prove themselves in high tides of the Persian Gulf League before earning that honor, and opportunity. There is no need for another "Daie or Ghotbi" scandal in TM.

Right now the only Iranian coach qualified for the job is GN, but then again he's a polarizing figure and his tenure as a TM couch would be clouded by a constant array of criticism before he's even offered the job which would be too toxic for TM. So, realistically, we're looking at another foreign coach. But before that there is a need for a new IFF head, someone with gravitas that wouldn't be played with like a fiddle as Kafashian was under the reigns of CQ.

If they bring an old - money grubbing - fart with a big name and too much ego as they've done in the past, then yes. But if they bring a young, ambitious guy with a respectable resume who is hungry for making a name for himself internationally then 2+ years until the final round of qualifications is plenty of time.

I'm extremely sad that CQ left, and it reminds me of the day that Velasco left our Volleyball team and everyone was devastated. However after Velasco, we brought Kovac on board and our results were much better and we even qualified to the semi finals.

The only problem with bringing another world class coach is, it takes time for them to get familiar with our football and players so we're gonna waste another 2 years or so. It took CQ over 2 years to finally put together his ideal squad.

I just hope whatever is best for TM happens. All I want is for TM to qualify to Russia 2018 and hopefully to round 16 and even further.

The difference is volleyball in Iran is built on a strong youth system that has dominated in Asia and competes with the best teams. A very strong league. Constantly learning coaches...

In short volleyball has a foundation like no other sport in Iran, where as football is built on a swamp.

Hashemian/Mahdavikia/Karimi should get the job. Three of them as coaching staff.

Completely disagree with you on the GN issue but like I said, it's practically irrelevant at this time, the zealots in the media have completely polarized the public mind about him via diverting the attention away from his coaching credibility and credentials, thus he's viewed as a pariah, thug, etc. which makes it impossible for him to coach the TM again.

I like Mansourian, he's sharp, a little devious and most importantly a respectful and pragmatic character. But like I said, if you put him at the helm of TM you'd simply ruin him. He's not ready. It'd be Daie 2.0. Let them prove themselves. TM shouldn't be a platform for these noobs to be given a shot to launch their careers. I don't care if he wins IPL this year. I wanna see how he does the next year, and the year after that. Look at Ebrahimi, how everyone was talking he's the shit. But after 3 successful years with Zobahan, he's proven to be a one trick pony and actually turned into shit. Such comparisons can be made with virtually all the IPL coaches. None of them are consistent except for GN.

CQ was too used to being placated in every possible way. His silly demands this time around was directly against the national interests and he's doing some siah-bazi, probably influenced by the multitudes of haji-firooz figures in Iran around this time of the year. ;D

Disaster after disaster ever since this regime began back in 1979!! Dark days are ahead of us. As no quality foreign coach is able or willing to come to Iran, IFF will revert to local coach and ensure our football goes to sleep for another 10 years...

Sadly aint gonna happen when your coach, that knows the team, knows the country , the culture, the politics leaves ONE MONTH before qualification starts!! It just doesn't work that way and we will NOT qualify , unless the Melbourne Miracle repeats itself....

CQ works for Iran. It's not the other way round. So the ultimate priority is certainly not keeping CQ satisfied with his temper tantrums. It is WHAT BENEFITS IRAN. Which includes our Olympic team.
This is why I say some of us treat an individual way beyond what's correct and norm. In our desperate attempt to deliver our obedience, we seem to forget the bigger picture. It's IRAN. Not CQ or any other individual. Get your heads out of our a****s
Well CQ selected few young players and he was told they are sarbaz you can't take them, and now again with addition of sarbaz players that he can't take, he is told not to invite his best two young prospects!!
Don't you see there is pattern here ? and BTW ask your self does it make sense that a player who is sarbaz is not allowed to serve a national team ? isn't serving in the national team is the highest example of being sarbaz for a sport man ?
just watch the interview below its clear he is not happy with the way he is treated, and its not a single incident that influenced his decision
