Considering we had only 2 proper legionnaires, Nekounam and Masoud, and the rest was an entire IPL team which was arguably much worse than what we have in the league nowadays, I would consider it at least much weaker than what we have today. I am not speaking about early 2010 qualifying but rather the later stages which disqualified us. We will do fine and we will qualify.

Guys, we missed the 2010 WC compliments of an 82nd minute goal in the S. Korea game. We would have had the exact same fate this time, if Korea scored a goal on that late game scare.

Really, the difference between 2010 and 2014 was not the difference between night and day or complete success and complete failure an incredible vs. shitty campaign - it was a single goal and a bit of luck in one game vs. the other.

So, let's please stop fighting with each other right before the new year and let's just hope that this turns out to be a blessing in disguise, rather than the end of humanity. Let's at least start the new year with some hope and friendship instead of despair and animosity.

I personally wish the best for CQ in his endeavors in this new year and thank him for his service to Iran and TM fans and for the AMAZING memories of both the WC and Asian Cup. I certainly wouldn't wish those types of stress levels for anyone his age, so I wish him a nice peaceful assignment with a professional organization.

Thank you Carlos, you showed us many things we didn't know and we are very sorry that we, a rich country have unfortunately better things to invest in such as Syria and Palestine.

I hope to see you again in a FREE IRAN one day to show you that Iranian people are not the administration and religious thugs you saw there. These people are not even Iranian. They are a bunch of opportunist and retards that have occupied our country for more than 30 years.

Good luck and hope you have a better time next time you coach a third world's team.

        Vaya Con Dios!

We missed 2002 with probably the most talented TM ever!
We made 2014 with the weakest TM in the past 15 years.

Talent doesn't determine success in Asian or world football. Otherwise Iran would have made it to every damn world cup. Consistent planning do!
Considering our league does very little to prep players year round, the TM coach essentially has to function as a club coach as well and act like a dictator.

The 02 team was our most talented team and we didn't make it. Karimi, Kia, Daei, Rezaei all in their peak or near their peak and up and coming stars like Nekounam, Khaziravi, Nikbakht (the last two had a lot talent but fizzled out). Bagheri was injured for most of that campaign but even he was added to that mix at one point. That team was so deep and talented that Blazevic wanted to use bagheri as a sweeper! Can you believe they couldn't actually find a place for Hashemian in that team because Samereh who was playing in Italy at that point seemed more ready? Damn it, how did that team miss the WC?

Thank you CQ for coaching TM.
He brought discipline, modern knowlegde to our football and also raised many important questions regarding our weak facilities, stadiums and preparations. Unfortunately they forced him away (resign) and did everything to make him upset. A well-known professional coach at this level must have the proper tools to succeed and IFF is not providing him these tools (new grass pitch, camps etc).

I cant understand, how much does it cost to build a proper training field and a gym? It should not take more than 1-2 weeks to finish something like this. Its not like building a stadium. The minimum requirements in order to play football is a proper pitch but we dont have one (except Azadi stadium). This is really disappointing.
In order to improve our facilities, clubs in IPL should learn from Foolad Khuzestan and Gostaresh Foolad.

His resignation is not good for TM at all, but its not the end of the world either. A professional and competent coach like Dragan Skocic can also bring success to our team (not a guarantee) but I think he is the best man for this job after Carlos.
Skocic has been successful in the league so far even though they took or teared half of his team away this season. Also at Malavan I dont think he had any good tools but did very well.

Actually spot on, Dragan would actually be a pretty good choice tbh. He knows Iranian football and has had great results with Malavan and Foulad, his teams always played good football, I also like his attitude as he's a "winner" and is very sharp. Kranjcar would also be a good one however with his problems with IFF and his recent departure to Al Ahli I don't think he would be an option.

The ideal would be a coach that already has some experience with Iranian football so there is no need to lose some time for adaptation. I can't see how IFF will chose anything but either an Iranian coach or an ex-IPL foreign coach at this point.
It's quite risky to bring a completely "new" foreign coach to Iran 2 months before the start of WCQ .
