Scolari. No reason we can't get him. He has coached in Asia (e.g., Bonyukdor) and is currently coaching a Brazilian club. I think he would relish at a chance to re-lick his WC wounds and return to the biggest stage! Time for some S. American Samba football for TM!

There's a reason he's currently coaching a no-name Brazillian club.

I personally do not believe any Iranian coach at the moment is ready to take on the team (we have guys like Hashemian, Mansourian, and others in the future but not for 2018). Jorge Luis Pinto was without a job after leaving Costa Rica and was picked up by Honduras in December. I think he would have taken the Iran job if he was offered a decent contract (prob not as large as what CQ is getting). Oscar Tabarez, Jose Pekermen...Pekermen was negotiating with Columbia when we were negotiating with CQ...options existed and still do. I really feel we could do well with more of a S. American influence (like what Viera did with our 98 squad)...we have tried the European experiment and change while not always easy, can be very positive!
I mean if Bunyodkor of Uzbekistan could afford to hire Felipe Scolari why can't TM. I know he didn't have a great WC, but everyone has a bad day...Scolari as coach of TM would be a dream and he is coaching some Brazilian club team at present!Remember RESPECT BEGETS RESPECT & Zob Ahan

true
lets not forget that irrelevant of all the BS excuses and bahanehz given by CQ, he is essentially leaving because IFF is broke and cant afford his services and demands ..!!
all signs point towards a cheap Iranian/ 3rd rate eastern erupean coach NEXT..!!
of the affordable options, especially amongst domestic coaches Mansurian is by far the best alternative.
ps
doubt if Mansurian would leave his club duties to just take over TM as a temp. caretaker too..!! ????
so IFF may have to offer him the position on a more permanent basis..!! and then fire him if things go south..

This is exactly why I don't want Mansourian or Hashemian. Why should we make these guys sacrificial lambs? They have bright futures and potentials to assist our football, so why do we want to use them as "temps" or anything else if they are not ready. IMO Embrahimzadeh is a quality Iranian coach, who hasn't had a fare shot (besides being TM temp coach) at the NT level. Even so, I wouldn't want Mansour Ebrahimzadeh to be our coach unless every suitable international candidate says no to Iran...which is unlikely! If IFF could pay CQ $2+ million for 4 years and then give him a $2.5 million raise after WC, no reason we can't get other coaches with even more impressive resumes than CQs to coach TM.Remember RESPECT BEGETS RESPECT & Zob Ahan

those countries you mention are countries with a functional football federation. We have a dysfunctional FF with a corrupt government that has a habit of holding outgoing coaches at the airport. That's at least an additional 2M premium you have to pay on top of standard salary they will ask for, just to consider Iran as an option.“It is easier to fool the people, than to convince them they have been fooled." - Mark Twain

People always demand the most from their teams and federations, as they should. This is not limited to us and our crappy federation. We are not the only ones with problems and as others have posted, money always talks. We were attractive enough for CQ to come, certainly for Vingada, Kranjar, Blazevic, and countless others...Remember RESPECT BEGETS RESPECT & Zob Ahan

Don't get me wrong though, I do get why you don't want to be reminded how ridiculous it is that you think you know better than the entire national squad AND the best Iranian coach. I can't blame you.

it may be too early for him but in this context of choices among vatani coaches and foreign coaches that know Iranian football he is the best choice. I wouldn't risk bringing a foreign coach that is not accutomed to IFF, IRI and Iran culture. It will be a big risk.
from bad and worst Mansourian is the best choice.

IF cq leaves my preferred choice would be his assistant Oceano, he has been with TM for a year and has shown gheyrat and heart from the sidelines, he seems to know cqs system and could probably continue a long the same line. He previously coaches Portugal U-21, Sporting Lisbon, and Sporting B.
