One down and one more to go. I cannot say enough about our boys and the coaching staff. CQ is truly a professional. His love for TM and the way they practiced showed the world we are indeed a better footballing nation compared to 4 years ago and can keep up with the best of them.

This should also be a great lesson for those that have accused TM and CQ for only being able to park the bus.
Take this one CQ haters and at least acknowledge him for what he has accomplished in Iran and credit our boys for always giving their 100% for the team in every game in the last 4 years. If you think we won this game by luck, then you have no football IQ.

Our second goal scored from open play was one of the best I had seen for a While, so precise and decisive finish.

Where is Mr Halvaee, with his historic game against Chile 50 years ago? I hope you are watching.

F Asadi, F Kashani, F Goodarzi without an once of Persian blood in you. CQ has more Persian blood in him than the lot of you. Let him return to Iran to square his account, you would see what the people do to you guys. Irrespective of Swede game.

Swedish game has now become even more interesting thanks to an extra level of respect Team Meli and CQ has honoured us and our nation with.

Great game. Took me until around 30 mins for a stream, so I missed the first goal. planning the rewatch the whole game.

What a great team. I'm now convinced, even more than before, that this team would have won the Asian cup if Iran didn't get cheated by a horrible referee decision.

The 2nd goal was one of the best Iran goals ever and worthy of the very best teams in the world. It's true that Gucci didn't have a great game, but don't forget his perfect assist on that 2nd goal!

Ansarifard will likely lose his spot once Azmoun is fully integrated; besides Gucci and Azmoun, I'm sure Iran has a better 3rd option.

Congrats to TM, Queiroz and RIP to the Iranian reporter and all others who died on that horrible plane crash.

Fact: Iran won 2-0 against Chile who lost on penalties to Brazil in the Round of 16 at the World Cup 2014.

Fact: Iraq lost 6-0 against Chile.

Fact: Australia lost 1-3 against Chile.

Fact: Iran is currently the best team in Asia no matter how you put it.

When Iran doesn't have a red card in the first 40 minutes, we're actually a decent team.

To all those saying "Chile was playing a friendly, we weren't" please look at the Iran Iraq match pre-Asian Cup. It was almost a C team for us with half the players making their debuts, and we beat Iraq. We are a better quality team, our subs should defeat an inferior team.

Chile losing to us when half of their starters today still play for quality Euro teams shows Iran isn't as bad as we make them out to be.

Also, the fact that they brought on Alexis at halftime and we scored one just to rub it in makes me happy. They were medium strength from minute 45 and almost full strength at minute 60.

They were also pressing really high to score. We deserved the win. We played patiently. Iran's greatest asset has always been scoring early. We usually win if we score in the first half. Our defense is so stingy and always will be under CQ.

Both teams seemed to be trying hard, but that's the word - DISCIPLINE. Iran has it now. We play every game as if it's the World Cup final. Isn't that the point of playing sports? To win every game?

Chile's fault if they underestimated the match. They thought Iran was shit, they paid. They should have done what they could to win. They underestimated their opponent today.

Low blow. Pathetic behaviour from someone who up until today I respected. Instead of using this opportunity to unite, and be proud of the way our boys played, more divisive tactics. Shame on you! We are all fans of TM, all human, and it was his opinion. If 2 or 3 of those Chilean chances would have gone in, would you have done the same? Congrats to TM, but shame on you!

In terms of the game, the only really negative thing I could point out was Ansarifard. For me, Ansarifard has been given too much chances to prove his TM worth. I like the guy as a player, but for some reason his game is never in sync with this team. Haven't followed him much in Osasuna, but I think for now, we should go with Azmoun and Gucci and a different third striker. This just isn't working for him. Otherwise, very good result, against a top team. Lots to be proud of today...

                          Oh I see.

So it's not divisive before the match or when the managers job is on the line, but it is when one is proven wrong

All is fair and game when the opinion matches your own, but god forbid someone voices a different opinion.

To answer your question: I wouldn't open my mouth and try shut others' that disagreed.

                          Shame on your hypocrisy.

Couldn't agree more. Players who have been with the team less, have shown to be way more worthy already, and we definitely saw that today! And the likes of Mehdi Sharifi havent even been a part of the team yet....

Right because Bi-Honars opinion will cost CQ his job. Trust me, there are more people with greater influence out there against CQ...get real mate. Those are debates, and sharing opinions. You don't have to agree with him, me, or CQ. Or you can agree. But to rub someones nose into something because things worked out well for you today is not "good sportsmanship" or karma. Imagine if Iran goes to play Sweden and god forbid loses 10-0...I would say the same thing to Bi-Honar (god I hate his username, I feel like Im always insulting him) if he pulled your classless stunt. Like I said, low blow. Never kick a man when he is down. As we say in farsi, "shab derazeh" and "joojeh-a-ra akhareh paeiz mishmaran"...I will once again remind you (the collective you) that respect begets respect. Attitudes and behaviours like yours will drive quality members away. Let's not make this personal, we all love TM, and want the best for TM. We just disagree sometimes on how to achieve this.
