BTW PSGMAN19, if Masoud was a bit less selfish or knew when to shoot we should have scored at least another two goals. 26% POSSESSION only yet we made most of the chances.

We did our normal game, but actually finished on the occasions we could.
You are confusing finishing with attacking football, they are completely distinct. We countered well, as we usually do.
If we would have scored one of those great opportunities against Argentina, we could have seen a similar result.
Again, the numbers don't lie. You're views are just tainted by the fact that we scored two, so you assume we were pressuring ultra-attack. We played defensive clear balls, as usual, but were more confident in the counter. That is all. Nothing more, nothing less. I'm happy with that, but you can deny the truth and think we went attacking today. The numbers disagree with you though.
You realize EVERYTHING you wrote went over his head, right? When you read his posts you get the sense the guy doesn't even watch football.

Lol, I'm hoping if I say it enough times he will understand. How could we have played a "more attacking game" when all of our stats that are the most important to attacking, namely passing and possession were exactly the same as in other games.

He is confused because we were actually confident in attack, which is different than an attacking tactic. He's just using the attacking thing as a defense to disprove his pointless cynicism before the match and make his anti-CQ rhetoric make some semblance of sense.

The problem is, the players just played CQ's game as a confident unit today, and he can't bring himself to admit it.

If Iran reaches their full potential under CQ, every game would look like this. Essentially, today Iran was Greece at their height. Extremely stingy in defense, with little possession, but strong counters and clinical finishing.

The way Bi-Honar is describing the game, you'd think we were playing Brazil or Spain's jugo bonita. People will make themselves believe anything to prove that they're not wrong.

I don't need to check the stats, I watched the game!!! Until now, the whole argument was that possession stats mean jack shit (and frankly I've always agreed with that), now you're saying forget about the goals, forget about what actually happened in the game and stats are all that matters!

Whether you commit 1 person or 6 people to a counter-attack it makes very little difference to your possession stats as does how far up the field you press and force the critical errors.

Plus, the 2nd half and especially the lat 30-35 minutes completely skewed the possession stats - we barely had 10% possession in that period. I'd be more interested to know what the possession stats were for the 1st half or 60 minutes.

If you want meaningful stats, we scored twice as many goals in this game as we did in the World Cup and just as many goals as we did in our two last group games in the Asian Cup and that's the only stat that matters at the end.

I believe st_mark is busy preparing new theories about how correctly hung flags look like they are hung upside down.

I litterally have tears in my eyes, not only because the great win against a high ranked team but also because of losing such great man Carlos Queiroz! Unfuckingbelievable what incomprtent people we have running the show and what clowms they are making out of themselves by saying all the bull shit comments about the man who has revolutionized our national football team by introducing decipline and most of built a unity amongst the team which i personally have not seen in my 33 years of life. Even during Daei, Bagheri, Azizi, Abedzadeh, reign there wasnt as much unity. Not to mention bringing Dejagah, Gucci into the team, the only man in his caliber who could convince them to join. He got rid of the little cry babies likes of Rahmati & Aghili! Just pure class and GHAYRAT like REAL Persians not like some actual Iranians who dont know shit about being humble, real, and most of caring and having sense of responsibility as a head coach, not a puppet like most coaches we have had in the past. Fuck Ghalegohi and any mofo who says simply cherto pert. I sure hope if there is even 1% chance for him to stay, belakhareh az khareh shaytoun piadeh sheh va tu team melli bemooneh.

Ansarifard looked lost and had no business being in that game. I think he messed up every time he touched the ball. But then again that is what happens when IFF decides to take away two promising attackers without much notice. Ansarifard is a bust in my book. He had opportunities to leave Iran earlier and develop but decided not to.

I am still pleasantly surprised by the way Amiri played against his first top level team.

This is for all the people who say the IPL is shit, quality players like Amiri, Hajsafi, Ghafouri, PAG and loads of others are muuuch better than average European league players that some of you make extensive researches for. We have loads of talented players that could've easily played in Europe if our country's situation wasn't the way it is, you can be sure that if our players nationalities were Japanese/Korean/American/European they would've easily been playing in decent European leagues. It isn't always as black and white as some of you may think.

This was one of best TM performances against a world class team, well this and the match against Argentina indeed, this match though has the edge, as we were able to beat the opponent by a 2 goal margin.

Anyone trying to undermine this great friendly match win, should be called the most biased and unfair football fan. We literally had more and better scoring chances, creating great opportunities up front, it's a shame we couldn't capitalize on some of those golden opportunities.

I truly feel bad for Ansarifard, you can totally tell e is under immense pressure and stress. He hasn't been able to make any impact in Osasuna and most likely to be released upon the end of the season. But in all honesty he was just terrible, Especially with that crappy pass in Chile's box, where he had Ashkan in front of him, yet he shot the ball totally off and out.

Nonetheless Job fantastically done TM, proud of you, and indeed CQ We Love You Sir!
