    Post-Match Sweden-Iran

    - Disappointing game
    - Still dont get what CQs subs are for
    - First half 4 players were surrounding dejagah
    - We still dont know how to play when we are behind
    - Overall they looked a class better, especially first half, which is no surprise, except for perhaps the delusional members that call a 2-0 win against chile b our best result ever

It was a friendly, I wouldn't look too much into it. And his subs were more symbolic than tactical.

As Bagg10 said, the subs were symbolic. We were approaching the final 15 minutes of the game and CQ wanted to give as many players as he could some playing time as a token of appreciation.

He made as many 'appropriate subs' as he could (Sadeghi for PAG, Ebraihimi for Nekounam, Ghafouri for Dejagah). The rest, he just had to make due.

Disappointing game from TM. All Qatari player$ were off, Ando had a shocking game for his standards. We were weak defensively in general, in the air, and once Sweden started sitting back and counter-attacking, we lacked sharpness, couldn't keep the ball or string passes. Only couple of good plays that unfortunately did not lead us anywhere.

Our best player was a "shitty" IPL player again, Amiri and our worst was Dejagah with no contest, he was dreadful. The only real positive is that I'm pretty sure we found our fix RB for the years to come, Ghafouri is pretty amazing in all departments.

I think the great fans deserved much better.

pedram jan we play good, i think we deserved a draw, if we had jahanbaksh and azmoun would have been better, we went 2-0 down ,scored a goal immidatly, then gucci hit the post, it was a good learning game, is a friendly, and we learned alot and the players gain experience, amiri is a new starter, good with the ball dribble well ,confident as well

            -Great game by Iran
            - Good to treat it as a friendly match giving players a chance to play
            - 3-1 was a harsh result. I don't think Sweden was better than Iran in today's game. Iran still lacked attacking abilities, and I think it was player based more than tactical. Ghouchanejad and Dejagah were pretty non-existent, hence why we couldn't see too many attacks on Sweden's goal. Other than that, I think the passing and confidence in the Iran team was great.
            - Statistically and mathematically, the win against Chile has been our best win. A win against the highest ranked team we've played, so I'm not sure what you define as delusional.

Just a couple of notes. Strategically CQ's counter attacking was fully controlled and managed by the Swedes. They used a 3-5-2 formation and controlled most action in the midfield. CQ made no tactical changes and stuck to his counter attacking tactics. Nothing much can be said about that as he has never changed from his 4-2-3-1 tactics since he was hired. If this is his last game it should demonstrate where his weaknesses are. He cannot make necessary adjustments to each opponent and during the game. That was his downfall during Asian cup and worldcup.

He changed the formation to a 4-5-1 in second half.

The only player who really disappointed me today was Ashkan Dejagah.

You can clearly see the impact of playing at Al-Arabi in the Qatari Stars League.

Invisible, slow, lazy, sloppy and every pass led to a turn-over. I want Jahanbakhsh to start over him next time.

Haghighi and Nekounam were the weakest men of the match. 2 of the goals were Haghighi's fault and one was Nekounam. I still don't get why Nekounam is not retiring he sucks.. What a selfish captain we have. In this match he couldnt run, defend or pass if his life depended on it. His only positive was his his penalty kick but the majority of the game he was really bad. Great game by Iran in the second half and Ameri played the best imo.

very good game by iran IMO. we played well. this is too people who say we play defensive football. we played a good offensive football, very fluid and lost the game. we could have parked the bus for 90 and gotten a tie or lost by 1 goal. you pick your poison.
                        IRI = FAILED

Same final result as the Bosnia match, and also a similar game. We weren't necessarily outclassed, as Sweden themselves looked weak in many parts (other than Zlatan, but that's why he is Zlatan).

They outmuscled us though. Iran plays well against teams it can bully. We play poorly against strong teams like Sweden, Germany, Netherlands, etc. Teams with strong-bully type players give us a lot of problems.

All 3 goals came from crosses and headers today, tells you something. Even our tallest players, PAG Nekounam, Sadeghi, etc. looked short compared to Swedish players.

Azmoun would have come in handy today, but to be honest, we need a young strong and tall defender to be brought into the team to partner with PAG. PAG is a great technical defender who can be involved in the back, like a Sergio Ramos, but we are missing our Pique or Mats Hummels. The stronger defender.

If CQ stays or a new coach comes, they need to address this.

We saw the holes in our defense today. That is worth more than any wins we had against smaller teams like Chile. I'm happy this happened to us, as it shows our weak points. I think we would have been more trouble up-front with Azmoun and Jahanbakhsh available, but without them, we had no depth. The team needs a revamp, and I recommend the next games bring in more youth. A lot of the players did well today, I personally liked Ando, Amiri, Ghafouri, and a few others, but overall, we need to slowly bring new strong youngsters into the team.

There were many players with bad games. Dejagah couldn't do anything positive with the ball today. Then again, as I've always said, players have off-days. Today was some of their bad days. Last week against Chile, we were solid. Don't be so reactionary, please.

I will agree that we should focus more on depth in the team and bringing in youngsters as our team today was quite old, but don't bash the players. They played their best, but Sweden was too strong and too tall for us. We lost almost every header if you watch the game again.

Us not matching up well against a team doesn't mean we suck. We have holes in our game that we need to address, that is all. I will not call for Dejagah to retire just because of one pretty terrible game. Nekounam couldn't really do much, as he was physically outmatched, as were many of our players. It is similar to the Bosnia match.

I don't think Haghighi can be faulted for any of the three goals we conceded today. They all pretty much came down to poor marking in the box (i.e. following the man off the ball) as well as poor aerial defending.

As far as your criticism of Nekounam, what game were you watching?
