This result shows how special the Chile match really was. This match was more typical of Iran, while the Chile match was a phenomenal performance through and through.

Lest not forget, these were friendlies. Let's hope the boys gained some experience they can carry forward to the World Cup qualifiers.

You guys are funny, no matter what you'll always be disappointed.

Baba our team is a 2nd world class team in the world, what do you really expect? Us to beat any team anytime? Our best players play in UAE/Qatar or 2nd Spanish League. Don't get your expectations too high please.

I think our team played very well, but from 65" they got too tired and stopped being dangerous. You should just compare this game and the Chile one to the ones against Nigeria or Bosnia where we parked the bus and had only one or two chances to score in the game. In that Sweden game, we were no worse than Sweden and had at least 5-6 good opportunities. We're getting better and better. What's certain is that it would have been great to keep Queiroz and continue playing world class teams such as Sweden & Chile. Now I'm just scared the best we could get is a friendly against Kuwait or Belarus...

By the way, Ando's crossing and corner shooting abilities are simply amazing

Word in the street in Iran is that players were told that no matter the result this is CQ's last game. Most of the players played with their head not in the game. We are Iranian and we are as emotional as they come.

Makes sense-- as a fan all I kept thinking about during the game was CQ and it being his last game. Sometimes I was wondering why we're playing in the first place if he's leaving; new coach will bring his own tactics regardless of what's already in place currently. Can't imagine it being any different for the players...

Like always when iran play on a international stage all the contraversy before the game in the media about Irans regime sucked the joy out of me.

A boot for Iranians disturbing our players the day before the game.

Big up for the Iranians who cheered for us without any political agenda.

One thing that was stupid of us was to cross in , from the sides, almost every chance we had,
The Swedish team was taller and almost every ball was rebounded ,

We could have moved the ball on the ground as the swedish side showed weakness on the ground and in facing our technical players,
the space was wide open at times we could have used the space and especially moving the ball behind the 18 yard box where we got the penalty chance,

Once you are facing big tall players your only chance is ground , space and speed ,

If you are a boxer dont wrestle a wrestler !

The Nekounam penalty set a new record in friends arena on the higest decibel ever recorded for an International game. But I didn't think we were that loud, were we? Well at least my part of the stadium wasn't, they were boring

The overall performance was poor. There was also a drastic decline in everyone's stamina levels compared to the previous match against Chile, highlighted by Dejagah's polar opposite performances. I don't know if that was psychological or CQ's poor preparation by perhaps overworking the boys a couple of days before the match in the training.

Zlatan completely owned TM in the first half. And it was made abundantly clear that CQ had no plans on how to subdue him. They're lucky he was subbed off in the second half or the scoreline would have been even more skewed. And once again TM showed why CQ has to go. Absolutely no coherent offensive strategy when the team is trailing with virtually no prospect of a counter attacks. Pressing was inconsistent and half assed. Passing was horrid, crosses were rendered futile due to Swedes taller statures and their GK's well timed exits. Everyone was holding on to the ball for 2 seconds too long, killing the fluidity and opportunity to penetrate the Swedish defense via agility.

It was just a poor game. Poor gameplan and horribly executed.

A couple of observations on players. Hosseini needs to be dropped off ASAP. He was shit in the WC against Bosnia, he was shit against Iraq, and he was shit again today. Too old, and complacent. Also despite the fact that I've been one of Haghighi's biggest advocates when everyone else had written him off before the WC, I think it's time to stop using him as our primary Keeper. Pass the torch to Beiranvand. Haghighi has been utterly average with some shockingly poor performances in TM recently. Beikzadeh has no business being in TM, his intellectual aptitude rivals that of Ostad Assadi. He's more of a liability than anything. Omid Ebrahimi is also not TM material, minnow player, minnow stature, completely invisible, haven't seen a single good performance by him in a TM shirt. Heck, I'd take that full-potato Nouri over Ebrahimi anyday of the week. Montazeri was fairly decent, but he too has declined playing for arab money. Karim should be black listed. Starting to remind me of Khatibi. Gucci was hustling as always but we need a tall target striker beside him and with that coward CQ gone, we can finally play with 2 strikers up front. #KingEnayati4TM

                            Major Positives:

                            1. Amiri
                            2. Passing in the last half of the first half, we managed to get 5-6 passes together on a few occasions
                            3. Hosseini

                            Major negatives:

                            1. Nekounam and Ashkan, both were absolutely useless today
                            2. Haghighi's inconsistency
چو ایران نباشد تن من مباد
We thank and support Mr.Kamran Delan for many years of dedication and service to Iranian Football Community.
