i think jahanbakhsh still has a lot to learn and develop, he showed this in asian cup as well. to move to a big team, specially british is not good for him in my opinion. if he wants to move to a bigger team, he should focus on top teams of holland or belgium itself. if gucci, ando and bagerhi could not succeed in english teams, i doubt jahanbakhsh can. and british media is highly critical and rough which can have negative impact on his development

He hasn't been performing with TM but the pressure on him is high to succeed and he is still very young, his club form is absolutely great on the other hand.
I believe both JB and Azmoun with their decisions of moving early to Europe can and will become our most successful European legionnaires ever. Jahanbakhsh is skilled enough to make it in the BPL, there are weaker players than him in his age groups and I certainly think he can make it there. But is it the right league for him? I'd say probably not, La Liga or Bundesliga especially would fit him much more. Anyways he has a lot of time and will have a lot of options in his career, hopefully he makes the best of it and picks the right choices unlike most of our Euro legionnaires in the past.

The Scottish league is really weak and comparable to the second division of the Netherlands. Yes, Celtic is a good team, but they are definitely not as good as they used to be. Also they do not play Champions League every season, they just participate in the qualifiers every season.
I personally rate Anderlecht, Club Brugge and FC Twente all higher than Celtic. However, FC Twente is financially unstable at the moment so most probably they will have to sell some key players in the next seasons. Based on that, Anderlecht or Club Brugge might be better choices.

IMO, his potential/talent is arguably much higher than all three of Gucci, Ando and Bagheri, I definitely believe that this boy will achieve great success in Europe. So assuming that just because these 3 didn't make it there is wrong in my eyes, we can't relate this to Jahanbakhsh's situation (in fact I wouldn't say Ando failed there at all, he was doing pretty ok and had he not have work permit problems he would have probably had a decent career there).

succeeding in english football is extremely difficult, specially if you are not fully matured and developed yet. forget iranians, even players like ozil, schurle, kagawa, salah, podolski had difficulties there, jahanbakhsh at the age of 21 and with only 2 years of experience in dutch league (one of which was 2nd division) moving to a top british team is a very risky move. the most important thing for him is to develop and mature more by getting more play time. 2 3 bad games, a little difficulty in settling down and he will be relegated to the bench and the fans and media will forever have a negative view of him which can backfire jahanbakhsh's career. u say he couldnt cope with the pressure in TM while playing against the likes of qatar and bahrain, yet u dont realize the extreme pressure he will be if he moves to a big name english side who is always under the microscope and all eyes will be on him??!!!
if jahanbakhsh wants to reach his potential and succeed, he needs to take baby steps. he took the first steps right by moving a weaker dutch team, his next step should be equally calculated. try mid table or even top teams in holland or belgium where he is still familiar, where he has somewat established a name for himself, where he can play in some UEFA league games hopefully, before moving to the best teams of Britain and having to compete with national players of Britain or other countries. he can always do this a few years later, he has time. he is only 21. if he moves there around age of 25 or 26, it will be much better for him.
P.S even though jahanbakhsh did a great move and moved to europe early, he still has to prove himself to reach the status of bagheri and teymourian. so, just because he moved to dutch league young and did well there, it doesnt guaranty he can do any better than the likes of gucci, bagheri and teymourian. infact, i see jahanbakhsh as more sensitive and delicate character than bagheri, ando and gucciwho are all stronger mentally and proven players at TM level atleastLast edited by yashar_fasihnia; 04-01-2015, 02:07 PM.

However if you want to compare JB to the Ando etc.. , it would be more appropriate to see where the others were at his age, when you do that you will see that Alireza at 21 has already 2 succesful seasons in Dutch football, regularly called up to the national team and has accomplished far more than Ando, Bagheri, Gucci at his age, thus together with Azmoun, looking even more promising.
Now concerning the pressure, even if it's Bhutan, Sri Lanka or Bahrain and Qatar, the pressure of performing for your country is known to be much higher. He single-handedly saved his team from direct relegation last year at 20 years old by scoring two goals vs Ajax, just to show an equivalent. I don't necessarily agree that this would be an obstacle for Alireza in the EPL. TM pressure especially in a tournament where we are among favorites is normal and understandable for a 21 year old.
But the whole point is that my focus was on the particular sentence " if gucci, ando and bagerhi could not succeed in english teams, i doubt jahanbakhsh can.", which I still think is wrong, but this doesn't mean that I'm suggesting that Alireza should move to the EPL this summer. My point is that he has much more potential that the other three you named to succeed in the EPL. For the time being, I believe he is good enough to make it in a top Eredivisie team or a probable UCL team like Celtic/Anderlecht, this would be the best decision. The options are very large, if in the future he desires to make it anywhere, including the EPL, I am positive that he will make it. Personally I would prefer to see him in the Bundesliga or La Liga.

Celtic is a good team even though the scottish league is weak. But he should stay in Holland and develop for another year, or move to a team in La liga or Serie A. I dont think his technical style is suitable for the scottish league.
But Celtic is a strong team (much better than most teams in eredivisie) so he should definitely consider going there because it is a step up.

Honestly, if Jahanbakhsh plays for Celtic he will be watched by every EPL scout and could easily move to a team live Everton, Southampton or Swansea in 2 years.
Plus Celtic have great fans who will create a lot of international attention for Alireza. He should go to Celtic if he doesn't have any better offers.
