If Iranians can be objective for once, he was a beast back around 2008-2011.

Very true. Seem like he likes to play these kind of games to get his way at last, i'm all up for it as long as he stays!

There was European interest for Rahmati before though, and what does this have to do with Haghighi? Today Haghighi is 10x the keeper Rahmati is, and that is by hard work, Rahmati had amazing reflexes, which was a god given ability, Haghighi has worked hard and all around is a much better goalkeeper than Rahmati now.

If CQ does it, it is okay.

oops I said something in favor of Rahmati in PFDC
            Here comes the bashing.
There is a subtle difference you missed...Rahmati quit at a critical time during WCQ while CQ quit well in advance of any serious event with ample time to replace him should IFF wish to do so. Rahmati and AK8 now that's a comparison that makes sense Let the AK8 supporters show their face now (note I loved AK8 as a player).

Also, keep in mind that Rahmati didn't quit for the hell of it, he quit because Daniel Davari was being brought in. He was afraid of competition and b*tched like a baby to try and keep his spot. A person like that doesn't deserve to wear any jersey, let alone the Iranian national team jersey.

CQ didn't leave because he is a p*ssy. That's the difference. Putting up with this much bs from the IFF for over 4 years should win this man a goddamn medal.

It's okay though the CQ haters have always made a lot of logical sense

Might as well compare CQ to Hitler while you're at it. Comparing him to Rahmati didn't do the job to win you any agreement, might as well go all-in with the Hitler comparison.

"Isn't it strange that CQ is quitting, just like Hitler quit by killing himself in WW2? Think about it, CQ sucks. Dr. Doom, did I say that right?"

FYI: I love the CQ basher strategy:

              1.) Say something stupid.
2.) Predict that you will be bashed for your stupid comment.
3.) Snake away when 20 people respond finding flaws in your logic.
              4.) Rinse and repeat.

There might be tiny chance for him to stay. You are right that the very fact that he has returned to Iran could be a positive sign. He made the rift within the federation visible to everyone. Let's hope the pro-Queiroz faction within IFF will come out on top, but that would mean that this Asadi guy needs to either resign just a few weeks after taking his post or to eat his own words. We will see.

In that interview on "Varzesh az negah 2", Rahmati said that CQ had accused him of allowing a goal on purpose against Uzbekistan (because he didn't come out).
That would be pretty insulting to a player if CQ had actually said that.

So to be honest with you, the situations are somewhat comparable.

And if you believe Rahmati over CQ, you must be living on a different planet all together. Just listen to the rest of TM players and how CQ treats them.

We use to call it Dorughe Varseshi some years back. But I like the headline so much I will give them the benefit of the doubt.

One thing is clear, CQ's popularity is overwhelming and the A**HOLES, are scared. Fans are all over social media and voicing their opinions. I have a hard time believing that CQ is not somehow affected by all of this. It is now a power struggle but they can't deny his 80+ percent approval rate.

                                IFF is backtracking a bit!

According to ISNA interview, Abbas Torabian, now IFF's marketing director, has said that he supports CQ staying with TM. To quote him exactly:

"...just as the people of Iran (Mellat Iran) want him to stay, I and the entire federation are interested in him staying."

He goes on to say a number of positive things about CQ, including improving IFFs management. He mentions that " I have never seen the head coach directly train players in the middle of the field (he mean trainer), but CQ has done this any time he deemed it necessary."

                                http://www.isna.ir/fa/news/940115031...AC%D9%87%D8%AA

There has also been a number of interviews by players that to me seem like a coordinated action to keep CQ. When Hosseini first spoke out against Asadi, I thought this was too bold but now Beikzadeh, Ando, Dejagah, and even Nekounam have all spoken out too. They attack IFF and Asadi directly and have the same themes when IFF managment standards are so poor, how can Asadi criticize CQ not fulfilling their standards..etc.

The battle has not ended. But I must say, I am worried that the government is sending CQ a message by giving him trouble both at exit and re-entry into Iran.
