damn, at least on paper this is simply the easiest of all groups..!!
India are probably the most improved asian team of recent years, but we should own them still..!
Oman is one of the most steadily semi-decent arab teams of region and we should beat them comfortably still on both legs.
Turkmanistan.?? dont know much about these guys..!?
Guam...?? lol should be a pretty comfortable fixture, and a goal-differential booster..!!?
I hope no one thinks we'll be scoring 10 goals on anyone realistically Queiroz will probably go with a defensive approach against Guam. The only tough game should be Oman away they beat and tied Australia in the 2014 wcq. 7 wins and a draw is realistic but I doubt we score more than 4-6 goals in a game.
A very good/easy draw for TM and this should help us do a proper transition to a new generation of players before the tougher games in the next round begin.
Hope to see lots of new faces in the squad for the June 16th game and hope to see a decent friendly set up by IFF for the 11th.
I'd like to see some 3-4 fresh faces in TM.
Replacing Nekounam and putting an alternative is inevitable. But i'd like to see the alternatives to Hussein, Dejagah, and most definitely shojaei's positions.
And the quality of our opponents, plus the time span and number of games in this stage provide the perfect opportunity to do this.
I was just taking a look at Oman Team's Facebook. Their writings are in Arabic, so not really a point posting them here. However, I did try to translate and it seems like the fans expect their team to take second spot behind Iran.

The key is to giving full autonomy to our head coach to select his squad. Some examples are below:
1. Nekounam > Ezatolahi & Karimi (Sepahan)
2. Dejagah > Jahanbakhsh
3. Masoud > Rafiei & Rahmani
4. Hosseini > ???
While we're on the topic of new players, I wonder if Rezaian can play as CB (even though it's not his natural position). From what little I've seen of him, he seems to have that 'thuggish' attitude that you say we need from one of our CBs (currently Sadeghi).
Actually I wouldn't be surprised, I expect to see Thailand compete for 1st place as well.
Unfortunately for us that wish Iraq in our group in the final round, they along with Uzbekistan are the less "certain" pot 1 teams to go through, Uzbekistan is in the group of death and Iraq is just really weak compared to before
