Nothing to do with Daei as far as I know. They had meeting with Kaffashian in Stockholm and Tehran according to article posted earlier in the thread.

There was an article on Varzessh 3 a couple of weeks ago that said that they had met Kaffashian in Stockholm and Tehran and were close to signing contract with IFF. It didn't say that meeting took place when TM was in Sweden.

P.S. Did a little more digging and Daei had apparently signed a co-operation agreement with Beswicks Sport as well (in mid March). So, it may have had something to do with him, but the original article didn't mention anything about him. Not having much luck finding the V3 article about IFF - they don't have a search function (?!). Will post if I find it.

Goal can reveal that Iranian FA have officially invited Kenya for a friendly match in June and that FKF are considering sending Under-23 team

Harambee Stars have been invited to play Iran in an international friendly match in June, Goal can reveal.

Iranian Football Association have officially sent a formal request to Football Kenya Federation requesting for the match. According to information from Iran, they want the match to be played any date from June 8-11 in Tehran.

Iran have agreed to pay for accommodation and flight costs of Harambee Stars during the match. However, it is doubtful whether the senior Harambee Stars can honor the friendly match considering that they will be involved in qualifiers for 2017 Africa Cup of Nations which kick-off almost at the same time.

A source in FKF told Goal that they are negotiating to see whether they can send U-23 side or postpone the match to another date. “This is a good gesture from our Iranian counterparts but we have to look at many issues before we commit ourselves to the match. Alternatively, we can send the U-23 team.”"

Kenya really needs to get off their high horse. They are pulling the same hard to get game like during our Asian Cup preparation.

Do we really need to invite these crappy unprofessional African teams anyways? We should play teams from CONMEBOL, CONCACAF or UEFA.

I agree, if they wish to send their U23 team I'd say we respond accordingly by also fielding our U23 and ask that the Kenyans share in the costs for the friendly.

No blame on the Kenyans here, they have a competitive game colliding with the proposed friendly and are just trying to find an alternative by either postponing or sending the Olympic squad.

The question here is, doesn't IFF have anyone with the capability to google if a team is available before sending a proposal.
