I am not happy with the way IFF and CQ have handled this...too many false promises, back and forth, and so on. You guys will give me crap, and yes maybe IFF is more to blame...but if CQ wants out, and wants to leave, then just do it. Rip it off like a band-aid, don't prolong this mess. CQ by now knows who he is dealing with...chances of either side changing is very unlikely.

CQ knows what he signed up for after signing the agreement with Iran after the worldcup. I don't understand what his plan is at this point.

As usual, he is trying to get the maximum resources in every aspect for Team Melli, but seems this time he won't get it and therefore knows it will be highly problematic but doesn't want to pay for IFF incompetence.

I don't get why someone would give a written resignation and afterwards come to meetings to decide why he should stay. It just makes me think he was held hostage after the Sweden match and he can't leave Iran. He wanted to resign weeks before the Chile and Sweden games. Why are we holding him against his will is very suspicious? I guess we will know in time.

When you try to equate this situation with average people's problems with their employers and wanting raises and time off, it's hard to conclude you're siding with him.

Maybe you should not "conclude" anything until you have read all the comments pertaining to my discussion about this one subject with regards to CQ and IFF.

As for the second point about average people's problems, I think you missed the forest for the tree on that one, and I will not bother to clarify further for you as a simple re-read will likely do just that

That may be true...but I am sure he didn't sign up for government interference by the guys at the ministry of sport...I am sure he expected promises to be kept and so forth. The likely truth lies somewhere in between Kaffasian's daily revolving percentages and CQ's press conferences...

Well now you know why he wants to leave, but as others have stated in this thread, IFF is holding him against his wishes due to his contractual obligations and financial penalties. We all heard the news that CQ lost close to million dollars recently so perhaps he really can't afford any penalties or fines at this stage. Of course, this is all speculation and we won't know until our next match who is going to be our coach.

It cant be all about money, if he rly wants money he can go to any arab country, get paid double what he is getting paid in Iran (and he will be paid on time)

I read your posts in this thread. You still think this is about him really wanting to leave and he should just
"rip the band-aid off". You still don't get that in a system like this when basic expectations are constantly unmet and promises are made just to be ignored days later, his only recourse when negotiations don't work is to take his case to the public and essentially shame the other side to live up to their responsibilities and do the right thing. This is basically how he got that Asadi clown to back off. He turned the meddling and interference into a PR problem for them.

I'm not a fan of Afazeli at all and agree with what you're saying in the 2nd paragraph.

I'm all for CQ standing up to IFF as well, but for that he has to be committed to the job. Simply giving up and saying things aren't going to change and we're not going to be successful because of that, isn't really the blueprint of success for TM. I'm all for campaigning for change and I think everyone (including TM players) should help him with that like they did in the past few weeks and in the long term it will be a lot more effective than these type of interviews. But campaigning for change and giving up on change are two different things though.

Are they legally allowed to hold someones passport? That's illegal no matter how much the fines are.

If IFF signed a legal document they should take him to court and not force him into anything.

Whatever way this ends up we can kiss goodbye to any good coach coming to coach Iran after this mess.

As I've said before, what you're seeing here is what would happen with ANY top international coach working in this system for more than a year. None of the alternative names some here have been dreaming about would respond differently to decaying facilities and pathetic funding and logistics, not to mention late payments and confiscated passports.

Like I said before, he had worked in Iran for 4 years. Then signed a 4 year extension after the WC. Now he is saying that given the conditions he is not going to promise any success.

Let me put it this way so you understand what he's going through.

"Wife (CQ) wants to leave Husband (IFF) due to being unhappy with the way her husband (IFF) treats her and their life together. Wife (CQ) says she no longer wants to be married and wants a divorce, Husband (IFF) promises wife that he will change and he will work hard to make their life better but he doesn't. So again Wife (CQ) starts complaining and say she can't continue.

That's what I did last time. I decided not to follow the news for a few days before Norooz and then I heard all over facebook that CQ has quit. I don't want this to happen again
