It just baffles me that Qatar has decent preparation by playing a La Liga side, and we are preparing against some newly promoted Serie B team.

I imagine its a mix of scrubs and starters like most preseason friendlies.
Looking at those highlights again. Qatar looks pretty offensive. Soria uptop, Abdelkarim Hassan as LW(he played LB against us in the Asian cup). Mohammad Muntari as RW and Tabata in the hole behind Soria.
Then they play that Luiz Junior guy at CDM along with Adbulaziz Hatem alongside him. Their flat back 4 are the usual Mohammad Musa and Kasola as CBs with Khalid Muftah as RB.
They have a new guy named Pedro Miguel at LB from Cape Verde. Big 1.88 m guy. This guy played on Jabbari's team in Qatar. Their goalie is French Tunisian but he doesnt look more imposing than Qassem Burhan.
All in all Qatar will pose a challenge to us because of their tall pacey Africans on the counter . We have the advantage mentally and technically though. I hooe CQ avoids using Ashkan on the wings because their players are top fast for him. ARj/Torabi though can rip them up.
Scoring in the first half for us will be huge. From there we need to score a 2nd and kill the game. We have a game in China 5 days later that 3 points would also be a godsend

Muntari/Karim Hassan/Meshal Abdullah especially are VERY FAST Whoever our fullbacks are need to make sure Hosseini/Montazeri are covered. They used diagonal long balls on the counter to beat us in the U23 AFC championship. If we can guarantee that our CBs are well covered, outside of set pieces they are not a threat to us.
We should be ok. For comparison this is the 11 we used against them when we tied them 0-0.

South Korea released its squad

Looks like China's money is getting to Korea. Their entire defensive line plays in China now, while last time they had European legionnaires there. They dropped their defensive captain "Kwak Tae Hwi" who is essentially their version of our Hosseini. Their goalkeepers don't look too special especially since their third choice is a 2nd division J league goalie.
Their midfield is very strong by Asia standards. If we neutralize the midfield we should keep it close and snag results in both matches. Son Heung Min is their main man to lock down.
As for attack, they look rather thin at the moment. Given I'm sure some of their midfielders are attacking wingers, they only called up two out and out strikers. No sign of that gargantuan Kim Shin Wook either who CQ had to call up Beikzadeh to guard him in our final WCQ in Korea last time.
