Agreed. I think the ref was pretty fair. made some bad calls ( the non offside call) but also didnt call the dive penalty which the arabs love to use as a tactic.
The ref in the Lebonon vs Turkmentistan game was pretty good too. he wasn't calling any bs dives and was on top of the grass rolling.

He gave a red to Lebanon, did anyone catch what that was for? Big impact on the match - Turkmenistan scored right after

Im not sure the camera panned away and they never really showed it on replay. The replays they showed it looks like the defender pulled down the attacker on the set piece when he had a clear opportunity. not sure if it warranted a red and TKM scored anyway. But if watch the whole match the ref didn't give fouls for flops and he also let some hard challenges play on so at the very least he was consistent.

As far as impact on the match... playing a man down obviously has an impact, but honestly as soon as Lebanon got up 2-1 they went into grass roll mode and tried to kill the game. they lost all momentum and it served them right to lose by time wasting with 15+ mins left in the game. TKM wanted it and they never stopped. TKM also started grassrolling once they took the lead so they are guilty of playin antifootball as well but the ref carded them for it and it was extra time.

My take on refs is they are human which by nature makes them biased. All I can ask from a ref is to call it both ways and not to get too involved in the game unless its necessary \ flagrant.
