What was CQ's role in Man U. as assistant to Sir Alex Ferguson? (In the sense of his day-to-day duties... I was guessing defensive coordinator, but couldn't be sure.)

        It can be.
Queiroz was heavily rumoured to be one of the main reasons for team captain Roy Keane's departure from Manchester United in November 2005. According to Keane, he did not like the way Queiroz was given so much responsibility as if he were manager of the club and Keane did not like the tactics that Queiroz employed. (Wikipedia). Sounds like to me that CQ was more than just a asisstant coach.

sorry to disappoint some, but that's pretty disappointing results (judging from the last number which I assume is the success rating/average points as the rest by logic would be: games played, wins, losses, draws, goals scored, .... etc)
he's got pretty low success rating actually for that single year.
even Camacho who was there for 6 games, got better result ratio than him!! lol
          Ouch!!

in fact this shd be the LAST thing CQ die hards want to expose to others

He had given an interview on MUTV where he apparently said something (never revealed what it was) that forced the club to get rid of him. Keane said that he never said anything that harsh and always asked for the interview to be made public. He claims that he was aging and had a leg injury and the club was looking to get rid of him so they just used that as an excuse. He also said that he had a fight with Fergie and CQ in training that led to his departure.

'Keane recounts the details of his explosive departure from United in 2005, claiming a training ground bust-up with Ferguson and the assistant Carlos Queiroz made his Old Trafford exit inevitable."

"An interview with MUTV in which Keane criticised a number of his team-mates following a lacklustre performance in a 4-1 defeat by Middlesbrough had weakened the midfielder’s position at the club but he writes that a fierce falling out with Queiroz on a pre-season training camp on the Algarve was the final straw."

You should include the headers in your table...if we look at winning percentage (I assume the last column is there), then he is in the lesser half of the coaches...however, this does not explain the circumstances and player personnel he had as compared to his rivals.

I think our friend here got excited to see CQ's name near the top of some chart, without noticing the more important numbers (success rate) that puts CQ in the bottom half of the table actually

If you read carefully I said "The other top coaches I mentioned above had a pretty much similar results as CQ and they also got fired but that doesn't mean we should question their coaching ability just because they weren't successful in one club."

The last column is winning % and the results are more or less pretty similar. His record is actually better than Del Bosque but does that mean that CQ is better than Del Bosque? No. His record is also better than Capello.

The point that I'm trying to make here is that Real Madrid has been an unstable club and they haven't been able to work with a coach for more than a year since Del Bosque left except Morinho and Ancelotti

Yes that's the winning percentage but his record is also better than Del Bosque but does that make him better than Del Bosque? NO.

Ive been a Madrid fan since 98 and still remember that season, everything was going well about this time 11 years ago, Real were in the final of Copa del rey, first in the league with being 8 points ahead, and won the first leg against Monaco in Cl (4-2)

everything suddenly went away that figo got sent off in that classico match against barca, Real lost the match 2-1, and lost the remaining matches of the season, had chance to win the league on the last day but lost it and went finished fourth .
was ahead in the final of Copa but lost the match 3-2
against monaco real even scored away and was 5-2 up by the end of the first half in the second leg, but lost that match 3-1 and lost the tie by away goal advantage (raul scored another goal which was ruled out wrong)

there were different reason, CQ was one of it but not the main one, after the Barca loss Perez (Real madrid president) went to say he's definitely not gonna be our coach next season, ronaldo got injured, who did we have? Portillo! a poor bench
our DM was cambiasso, he got injured and we had to promote Borja from B team, Pavan (CD) was injured and used Raul bravo as CD

over all management and a weak bench beside luck were the main reasons, CQ couldn't do much
