New video of Mehdi Taremi I have been working on.

Finally have a new video editing program, so I was trying a couple of new tricks. However it is a bit tough with such bad quality videos from Iran's league.

If anyone knows how I can get the picture in the start of the video to show with clearer quality, please let me know!!


Anyways, again, these videos are not just to show goals. They are also for showing the player's smarts and tactical intelligence as well.

Taremi has been on all our radar for a while, so it was time to get a clip of him up.

Taremi's confidence is unusually strong for an IPL youngster, just needs to be focused a bit more when finishing. He is not only a huge threat, but also sets up his teammates quite well and creates lots of chances. Perspolis scored 5 goals in ACL so far and Taremi had an impact on all of them - I think overall he is our assist leader. For sure one of the best this season and maybe the biggest surprise. I always have huge respect for youngsters that perform during bad times as well and despite heavy pressure. In case of Taremi he is not only performing, but actually carries his "wounded“ team along with couple of other players. This is remarkable considering how young & inexperienced he is.

I'm not talking about Taremi, but in general, people seem to think that the determinate of a player falling or not, is all about strength. Agility is just as important.

IMO he is quite strong physically. Falling and getting fouled happens, its part of the game.

The most interesting thing for me is that while Taremi is big and strong, he is also quite agile and light on his feet, like a "gazelle", if you will (not sure if that is the best comparison lol).

He has a unique combination of skill sets. If he keeps up the good work I wouldn't be surprised to see him start netting more goals for PP and potentially a TM invite.

EDIT: Also, I think we need to all give Ali Daei props for finding and trusting in this guy.

Say what you want about Daei as a coach, but there is no doubt that he has a sharp eye for good footballers. He also gave a chance to Abbaszadeh and I believe was the first coach to invite Khalatbari to TM, before KB became known by everyone in ACL.

Because one of the biggest clubs and the most popular in Asia is experiencing a disastrous season, yet this youngster is shining and keeping the team alive despite the huge pressure on his shoulders. Only in bad times you will see what a player is truly made of.

This is part of his strength bro. Taremi is a pain in the *** for the defenders, often they can’t handle him and therefore start fouling. In ACL he already earned us 2 Pks and one FK that resulted to a goal.

That shows the disaster of our football when a player is considered to shine and keep his team together, when the only thing he does is getting fouled on to win penalties! At least that's how you see from this video. We have and should have far better players in the other teams in the league or else we shouldn't even compete at international level.

He isn't falling down on a simple 1v1 duel where both players are on even grounds.

He is out muscling 2, 3 or 4 players who are around him. Usually after he beats 1 or 2, the 3rd takes him down out of desperation.

Set pieces are important in football. If we have a guy that is strong enough to push by multiple players, forcing them to foul near the 18, I don't think that is a bad thing.

Its not like he can't score a goal. Its just that he can also cause a headache for defenders and force them to make errors.

That's what I fail to see in the video! How many goals did he score in total?

All the credits to a player who can do what you said he could do here above, but in the first place, a forward should be able to score goals! I get it that all the pespes fans would like to lift their club player up but that should also be according to logic. In all fairness I see nothing special with this guy. As said before, we have better players. Look at Foulad, Teractor, Sepahan, etc.

Of course you can not judge a player based on a video. But we are talking about the video in this thread. Everyone's arguments about how good or bad he is "in this thread", is also based on that. The video is supposed to show the highlights of the player, right? and to me, the highlights don't turn him into anything special. Maybe you have another video or know more about him which you can share! Please do in that case! Sorry if you take these comments personally based on your favorite club. I'm just giving you my honest opinion.

Actually we are talking about Taremi and the video just helps us to review few scenes from this season so far. Many have seen him play and you are honestly the only one here fully judging him by just watching 2-3 minutes of a video. If you say the video did not impress me and I need to watch a full match - then ok, that would be totally fine. However to immediately claim he is not special and we have better players makes no sense at this point. Your argument about him being praised just because he plays for Perspolis is even worse and extremely outdated.

AT explained his work already. This is not your typical highlight video showing flashy goals, assists and skills. The video rather shows some other interesting aspects of Taremi's game. Overall these videos are mostly there to spread the player's name and attract attention, none of them are fully enough to seriously evaluate the player.

Sorry if you take these comments personally based on your favorite club. I'm just giving you my honest opinion.
