Never heard of him, let alone watching him play.

But one look at his pictures, and I can tell how much of a hero he used to be and how proud Iranians were.

Ps: Credits to KC McElroy for this attracting thread title :P Just like a true newspaper title.

R.I.P. Although I never got to see him play, but heard so much about him, Apparently he was a real good keeper, but extremely short-tempered, they say he once slapped a referee and got banned for a long time if I am not mistaken?

Last week Mr. Zahab spoke to his daughter in Germany and she mentioned he was undergoing some surgery. Khoda biyamorzadesh.

Until Hejazi came along in the very early 70s, Asli was the finest keeper we had up to that point. I vividly remember watching him in the 68 AC.

        Rest In Peace

          We just lost another goalkeeper

God bless his soul, this guy hands down was one of our best football players , you youngsters may never see any footage of his performance but i have to say he was truly a class act with his unique style of goal keeping, he had martial arts moves that hyped out the crowd

Again another true iranian hero died alone and away from his people in exile, shame on you IR for taking away our finest memories produced by irans best children,
