Aziz Asli passed away today. I never actually saw him play but had read about him in old Iranian magazines when I was in Iran. He was our goalkeeper in the 1964 Olympics, 1966 Asian Games and 1968 Asian Championship (which we won). Rest in peace.
I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.
may he rest in peace.. I heard about him too but never saw him play.

Honestly the list we can just add and add .. Safarian, Babazadeh, Ghelich, Haghighi, etc....
I wish Iran produced quality strikers as well...
In the past we had quality strikers but recently not many options available!
WC1978 - Mazloomi was on the bench and never got to play. That's how good strikers were in the squad.
WC1998 - Modir-Rousta did not even go to the tournament!
WC2006 - Enayati IPL's top scorer sat on the bench and never got to play.
WC2014 - Reza sole striker
At least now Azmoun is there as well.
