I don't like how people here have to bring a certain player down in order to speak positively about another player. They all play for TM, why not speak positively about both?

And to say that Dejagah has only had 2 good games for TM is very disrespectful to him, and also indicates that either 1) You have simply forgotten other games or 2) you don't understand football as well as you think.

Or who can blame Gucci for leaving Charlton to make 10x as much money in an Arab league?
Would you give koon regularly for the next 5 years if you knew that the pay that you would receive in return for it would set up the rest of your future? I wouldn't as some things take priority over money.

how else is one to determine who the best player in the team is when the question is brought up? i dont think its disrespectful to him....we all agree he is a good player for TM its just comparing and contrasting, thats part of what we do on forums.

if somebody is swearing at him and his family, calling him bigheyrat, things of that nature that u see low class fans in iran usually doing then thats a different story but i dont think i have seen any of that unless i missed something....

Ashkan came to Fulham with an old injury from Germany, he was never the same player after the injury at QPR game. He was sparingly used by Fulham when he semi recovered. I think he's overall done very well for TM and I'm for one thankful for him choosing to play for TM over Germany (eventually)

I look at his couple of years in Qatar as a rehabilitation exercise. I doubt he can handle physical and pacey European football at present?

I don't mean you, but some people have said things that are a slap in the face to any player.

2 good games for Team Melli? That isn't anywhere close to the truth?

Do you think those same people would say that to his face? "hey, thanks for everything, but really you've only had 2 good games for Iran." "Ando has done more for TM than you have"

I've said this before, if you wouldn't say it to a player in person, don't say it. IMO, that is

Wrong. He gave the long ball to which the Korean defender screwed up to make Gucci score.
IRI's politics is no different than handling a pressure cooker ..... As the pressure builds up, you slowly let the steam out just a tad bit so that you don't see overflow, and once the pressure from below is less, you put the lid down again and raise the temperature.

I said two excellent games and one good game. 2 very poor games and the rest average or slightly above average. Yes, I would say this to his face. In German, Farsi and English.

PersionLegion said that Ashkan is the engine of TM which is simply not true. It's not a brainer to know that Ando is the engine and that's why his name was brought up.
As said before: Ashkan definitely has got the skills BUT considering the training and experience he had in his youth with Berlin, German youth national team and Wolfsburg: his performance could at least be consistent.
And I for one blame his attitude and laziness for that.
He must step to the expectations and has to be our best player. Period. He is capable of it.

Dejagah's game is world class. No doubt about it. But a player is only as good as his teammates allow him to be. Fact is in TM a lot of players cannot keep up with him. The IPL players constantly screw up passing plays with him and he ends up burning out trying to do too much. When in Germany and for Fulham he was always attacking and cutting in from the flanks, often making nifty passing plays...no offense guys but this isn't ando, heydari, or any other TM players forte...he played 1 or two matches early on with Karimi and they were amazing finding eachother. His game now is relatively unsupported as he does a lot of running and tires quickly.

I bet he misses European football.

It seems unlikely because he's earning millions in gutter.

However, Dejagah is still a beast and can help any bottom to mid table top 5 league European club.

                          .
Yeah, but when he thinks back about those moments and get sad and cries, he will just wipe his tears with 100$ bills.

:bs: to the bolded part. Dude please.....he is NOT our best player at the moment. What's with this senseless exaggeration? He had fantastic games for TM and everybody admits. Indeed he is an expectional player, when he starts to deliver constantly. That's what us fans miss. Our own bunch of PFDC guys witnessed ourselves in stockholm.... fricking Shojaei was head and shoulders above Dejagah. Go figure.

No matter what Nekounam says, i rely on the coach to use Dejagah propoerly and line up the fittest players who can run and fight for 90 minutes. Which Dejagah CAN DEFINATELY NOT at the moment and actually a lot of times never could! And playing in the desert doesn't help at all.

                            His club stats:

He played a total amount of 320 games.
202 times he was in the starting line up and was subbed out 118 times!!!
95 times he came in from the bench

= In more than 66 % in his club games he was subbed in/out.

Again: HE CAN BE our best player but IS NOT AT THE MOMENT, has got everything BUT stamina and hunger.

                            peace

I was in Stockholm by myself & actually i witnessed the same, as we all saw against the chile game. He was the only player from team melli, who was covered by 2-3 from the opposite team. If u have played yourself, than u should know that this is of the reasons why a player gets that quickly tired.

So who is your opinion our best player? Ando? He is good & more than this he is a very likeable person, but he is by far not our best player.

Best current Iranian player is none other than Mahmad "Mahmadinho" Nouri. No other choices are reasonable.

Also, stop bickering about who the best player is. It is all dependent on what type of play you personally enjoy.

Dejagah is a decent player by Iranian standards, so I hope he is called up in the future if fit and in form. I agree with many that he has been more inconsistent recently, but that seems to be a trait held by many Iranians.

I hope that all of our players will be more consistent in the future for TM under CQ.

I disagree with those saying that Dejagah should be banned from the team for going to Qatar. We have many players in our team in that league, and I will support them as long as they can play a role in TM, even if that means being training partners for our future stars.

Dejagah can provide valuable advice to our younger technical players, and tell stories of his Bundesliga victory, etc. It seems he has taken Karimi's position as the player with the most successful club player currently on the TM roster, as Karimi used to be able to tell younger players of his exploits and mentor younger players. Ashkan is that now. His time may be passing, but don't discount his value to the team completely. Phasing him out, is okay. Outright banning him is unnecessary until he starts playing poorly enough that we can say he is harming the team. He's not harming the team. He's played as good as or better than Jahanbakhsh in the last year of TM so far, so he can still be an asset when he wants. Jahanbakhsh is not ready to take his position yet, so Dejagah should remain a choice at RM until the time ARJ is ready.
