I've seen this highlight before in sportsmanship compilation videos, but never knew it was against Iran. Very cool, thanks for posting.

Probably because it was in a four team friendly "tournament". Such a long time ago too. I can't remember the other two teams involved atm, though. We beat Denmark 1-0 off a Mahdavikia penalty later in the game.

It was the Carlsberg Cup in Hong Kong in 03. After winning this game we went on to play Uruguay in the Final, where we lost out on Penalties after leading for the majority of the game.

I remember seeing this on the Danish national news back then, I think it was in '01/'02 (?) As far as I remember, it was a friendly

Yes it was the Carlsberg Cup and it was a friendly. Our player mistook a spectators whistle for the refs and Denmark got the penalty.
                  Very class act by them.
IRI's politics is no different than handling a pressure cooker ..... As the pressure builds up, you slowly let the steam out just a tad bit so that you don't see overflow, and once the pressure from below is less, you put the lid down again and raise the temperature.

It was in 2003 in a friendly tournament.. Nekounam scored on penalties as th only scorer of the match. As mentioned we to Uruguay on penalties after a 1-1 draw

i remember watching kaebi in this tournament with my dad telling me how freaking mature and fast he was for his age. i think he was 16 or 17 then.

we all know that was no where close to his real age.
