Hmmmm, what a talent that could have been an huge impact player in the best team of the best league in the world - only if he had the right attitude. Was a joy to watch when he played and was on song. Haif as we say, wish he had a Jahanbaksh type of attitude and not one of a troubled child.

He could have reached the highest peaks in football, but he lacked the vision, insight and maybe necessary guidance.
In the last few years he has tried to show a Nasser-Hejazi like image of himself, ama in koja va aan koja!

I agree, he thinks he's a messiah of some sort. Just because he's said a few things about i.r he thinks he has the authority to talk about everything and unfortunately a lot of Iranians religiously follow what he says like a bunch of sheeps.

Guys I have a serious question. I am actually a bit confused and shocked how some of our players who were also part of this team in the past, are now somehow joining this "anti Queiroz" thing.
As someone already said Mahdavikia liked Ali Karimi's post and now I saw that even Hossein Mahini and Sosha Makani liked posts that are obviously insulting Queiroz(take a look at the attachments).
Why are they doing this va daran dar asl poshte sarmorabishuno khali mikonan. Man yadame akharin ordui ke Sosha Makani daavat shode bud yek aks az khodesh va aghaye Queiroz gozashte bud dar Instagramesh va taarife in Mard ra dad

Yani ina alan "oghdeye" davaat nashodaneshun hast?? Just read the hashtags on the post that Mahini liked and I think we don't need to discuss about the post that Makani liked.
            Harchi hast kheyli bi ensafie...
This is so paradox Mahini posted stuff like this in the past where he praises Queiroz and says "کیروش تو قلب همه ی ما جا داره❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ "but then does this.

              Hypocrites.
Guys like Rahmati, Aghili, Khalilzadeh, Khalatbari, and Haddadifar did similar things once they stopped being called to TM. Shameful.

I don't know if it's hypocrisy or if they feel the need to display loyalty to Karimi and Seyed Jalal.

Either way, whether they have good intentions or not, liking Karimi's post specifically was insulting to CQ, a guy who has showed a lot of faith in them in the past.

Other coaches would have dropped Khalatbari faster after so many costly turnovers every game.

Other coaches gave up on Makani faster that CQ.. CQ saw something in him and invited him to TM. Makani played himself out of TM with poor decision making.

CQ was the one who gave Mahini consistent play time in TM. Mahini played himself out of TM with average displays.

I can go on more than this, but lets stop here.

The most disgusting part about all this is the insults and false allegations. FFS some of these guys are well in their 30's. In any other country they would be liable for damages in court.

I don't want to make it political but this is why Iran is the way it is now.

We had a generation of polite humble guys (a number of the 98 players) and then after that Iranian players mimicked Iranian youth in general and became a shambles. I am worried with the current generation that they may become similar in future (there are exceptions... i liked Kaveh Rezaei's interview, and Jahanbakhsh seems very grounded and humble) - its not just an education issue but a mindset issue and unfortunately endemic in Iran's society, and it is understandable after 40 years of this....

Branko keeps a 37 year old Daei on his WC roster and everyone looses their shit saying he should be dropped because he's too old and should make way for younger guys.

CQ drops S Jalal due to his old age and to give younger guys a chance and everyone looses their shit.

                      Lol figure it out guys

These aren't comparable situations. The only thing which is similar are the ages of Daei and Jalal Hosseini.

Daei had been a statue for 3-4 years and was playing 90 minutes a game, unsubstituted, without any movement or team contribution. Hashemian was pushed out to the wing to accommodate him. The 23-year-old IPL player of the year wasn't even invited to the 2006 world cup. It was like having 10 players on the pitch for that period, however much Daei had been great for Iran in the late 90s.
The difference is that there were a number of options which were better than Daei for TM at the time. It wasn't an age issue.

Daei's performances for WC06 campaign were negligible. Jalal Hosseini still performs very well for Iran, he is a rock solid centre back. His performances have been really consistent and great for this campaign. As someone who dislikes Persepolis, it takes some respect for him that I had him down as Iran's stalwart for this world cup, just due to his consistency and calmness under pressure.

I understand the potential logic in building a new team for the future, I just wish CQ would have followed the logic he had with Azmoun in 2014 and waited until after the WC. Centre back is arguably a more important position for experience than forward. And once again, I must emphasise that I have faith in CQ. The positives of every campaign he has lead us on has always significantly outweighed the negatives.

trust me i agree that he shouldn't have dropped Hosseini, Ghafouri, or Rezaei, but it is what it is. lets just hope this decision doesn't bite us in the ass next month.

I think the current generation is the best of all. They all care about each other, support each other, and I have yet to seen one player act jealous or mean to any other player. I am very proud of this current group.

CQ is mainly to credit with that. He kicked out all the troublemakers like Rahmati, Aghili, and AK8 and stuck with players that bought into the system. If Branko was able to do that in 2006, then we could’ve made the R16 in that tournament. That’s the difference between Branko and CQ. CQ runs the show while Branko let the prisoners take over

Here is the interview CQ had in the airport before leaving Iran for Turkey camp. I hope you can read Persian.

Especially this part which shows the true nature of people like Ali Karimi and the reason they don't like CQ.
