Epic! I'm so glad his holiness has done his best to transfer his "knowledge" to our domestic coaches with all of them classes and all. Although I wish he'd use a slightly more social method of lecturing than giving scathing public interviews about his "students."

lol... My dead dog's buried corpse has more character than this charlatan. His glorified resume of consecutive failures as a head coach in the past two decades and his pathetic one gear game plan wouldn't even get him a 400k contract in Europe. He's getting 1.5mil in Iran, executive accommodations, tax free, works 3 months out of 12, has full authority on commissions as well as backdoor deals on both TM campaigns - hotels, pitch, etc. - and their "friendly" african opponents, and most importantly he gets to piss on Iranian coaches and gets cheered for it by the most putrid, sycophantic and reprehensible representation of journalism I've ever known, namely Iranian Sports Journalists. Why in the world would he ever leave?

Do some research. Remember his first workshop when he came to Iran?

How many coaches did not go? Look it up and get back to us.

You just sound like Mayeli, GN, Azizi, Derakshan etc... It's amazing that you repeat the exact same stuff, just in english.

Those friendly african opponents that you are referring to was organized by CQ for free of charge. If IFF was capable of organizing a friendly trust me he would have never bothered to arrange those. If he wouldn't have used his own contacts to organize those friendly games, we would have traveled to the world cup and ACL with 0 friendlies.

That's not true. SS still had a chance of winning the title (small). They needed all wins though and maybe some favorable results in the other games.

Instead of comparing GN with CQ, how about we compare Iran with Australia, Japan and South Korea combined and take a look at their preparation and world cup results. They had endless amount of friendlies, european legionnaires, excellent infrastructure and camp. Things we don’t even have and we still managed to get better results than them in the world cup. We even played better than them.

Japan like Iran didn’t qualify to the semi finals with all of their european based players. Even though Iran lost to Iraq but they played incredibly with an amazing fighting spirit that CQ created in our team. We managed to get back to the game twice with 1 man down.
I do show support for TM and hope for the best. Please don't confuse my lack of support for CQ as lack of support of TM.
Countries like Japan, Korea, and Australia are better than us. That is an unfortunate reality. And we don't get better results than them either.

CQ has been coach for 4 years. Results, performances, overall football improvement have all been average to below average. (Average results, below average performance - bus). Whatever he was gonna do, he should have done it already. I don't think he can add anything to our football. Nothing significant at least.

And you make a good point about Japan, Australia, Korea having better infrastructure. While they are building their football from the bottom up, all we do is fight over an overpaid head coach. I've said this before, until we fix our infrastructure nothing will happen for us. With CQ or without CQ.

OK. We are back by 3 weeks. Going backwards like this we will get to invent football all over again.

Lack of support of your coach means lack of support of your team. I never supported Derakhshan or Daie as head coach of PP and it had gotten to a point where a lots of fans including myself wished PP to lose so we could get rid of them. That also applies to people who oppose CQ. I remember reading so many comments on footballitarin, Esteghlal's fan page that they wished TM to lose after CQ fired Rahmati.

Since CQ has been our coach we've had only 4 terrible results.

                    1-0 loss against Lebanon
                    1-0 loss against Uzbekistan
                    3-1 loss against Bosnia
3-1 loss against Sweden. It was a terrible result but we played well and I think 2-2 would have been fair.

CQ is an exteremly smart coach and when he realizes that a certain tactic is not working, he changes it immediately. I'll tell you why:

We played an offensive game against Lebanon and Qatar in the first leg of WCQ where we lost one of the games and got a draw from the other one. He realized that when a team defends with their 10 players against us, our players are not capable of scoring. He decided to step back and let our opponents control the ball. Ever since we did that, we have won all of our games against the asian teams except a draw against Iraq.

Even worse was the rally at Azadi after we qualified for the WC.

There were some Esteghlal fans chanting "Rahmati" when Rahman Ahmadi's name was announced.

That was so embarrassing and I felt so bad for Rahmad after he saved our asses twice in the last game against SK

Great interview with Peyrovani. I love the part where he says "Just because we were doing something wrong 15 years ago and we put up with it, doesn't mean we should continue to do the same. Just because we didn't have good fields back then and we managed to get some results doesn't mean we should do the same and not complain".

CQ is here to break those bad habits and make some serious changes in the way things are done and it's sad that there are some people who don't appreciate this.
