i don't know what you are trying to point out there. they are the honor of turks (azeris), they are followed in zanjan, west azerbaijan, east azerbaijan, ardebil, republic of azerbaijan, armenia, georgia and eastern turkey, they are the most international team in iran along with persepolis, and esteghlal to a lesser degree. an azeri team playing in an international competition and having the chance to win the PGPL is a big deal, azeri's in azerbaijan watched the tractor-naft game as much as they did with qarabaq-inter when qarabaq had a chance to make the round of 32 of the europa league

Maybe in English it sounds strange, but in Azari it sounds very normal.

Turks are a group that exist all over Eurasia and in Iran as well.

It does not refer to Turkey or any specific country. Azaris in Iran identify as Turks, just as Balouchis identify as Baluchi, and other groups identify as Gilaki, Kashi, Armani, Talishi, and the list goes on and on.

Would you have a problem with Ararat being called the "Pride of the Armenians" ?

I think you are looking at this at too much of a Euro perspective. People in Iran aren't so "Nazi" like as they are elsewhere over ethnicity and such things.

A good portion of Tractor fans are separatists. This is nothing new

they are not even tractor fans. neither are they football fans. They are sepraratists, who use these type of events to promote their ill-minded agenda.

I bet that guy with the wrong flag at the wrong stadium, in the wrong country, can't even name you even 5 tractor field players, let alone being called a fan...

I do not know how many times we have come here and discussed the same obvious matter! Some here say, Azeris are separatists! Separate from what? We are the majority of Iran thanks to our population growth. Azeris are all over the place, from North, Centre to south!

Secondly, Being an Azeri doesn't simply equal to be a Traxtor fan! The majority of Azeris are Persepolis fan! As an Azeri of Tehran (Born in Tehran-Azeri), even though I want Traxtor to succeed but my first team is Persepolis! therefore, please when you guys are talking about few Traxtor fans' acts, keep it in that limit and do not expand it to a nation. Come on guys, check your facts. Alright? Azerbaijan is part of Iran and most of Iran is Azeri language. Persians soon are to be minority and that does not make them any less tribe within Iranic tribes! We are all Iranians. whether Kurd, lur or Turk or fars! Grow up guys! Go and check the number of martyrs in Iran-Iraq war and find out how many of them were Azeris.

Faghani's suspension for 4 matches shows he had critical errors in that match too. The thing was brushed off in Naft vs Tractor match as lame excuse. Now, I don't accept the theory that Faghani was ruining the match according to a plan but his decision making ruined the fun and were crucial. Instead of making him an escape goat for all other problems was wrong but he should have received suspensions for his bad officiating.

As an Iranian Azeri I laugh at this sort of stuff. The people need a release. However I think people should be able to put up any flag they wish. Its a human right of expression. But then again, when the mere fact that IR has taken these human rights away from them is why this crap is going on in the first place.

On a side note, soccer hooliganism is common in many nations. It needs to be properly dealt with.

I thought Tractor fans had got past this and became decent, sometime around having established in IPL and even A.Karimi moving there.

Indeed all Tractor fans are to be held accountable for those individuals, and in the end of the day Tractor Sazi club. There is no difference if fans do a Hitler-salute, a Turkish fascist wolve-salute, monkey noises or display their questionable political opinions in a football stadium. Fans must clean themselves!

Teraktor showed why they suck. They let a 3-1 lead slip last year and they tied a game they were up 4-1 vs. Zobahan with 10 mins left. Their fans need to get there head outta there rear ends.
