Kiarash, your persistence in rooting for this guy is really commendable. I don't mind seeing many new talent getting invited to TM camps. But how close did he ever get to play for Japan?

If this is true, looking at it from Hasegawa's perspective, this is the perfect time to do this. Look at the facts:
1) For the past 4 years, his name has kept popping up in discussions - So he knows he'd get in the squad over here.
2) A void has been left by Nekounam - So a starting position is also very likely.
3) A Japanese call up is probably the furthest it's been since he stepped on the scene over there - He's at his peak but playing in the 2nd division isn't going to help.
4) At 26 now, he's at the perfect age to play a season or 2 for TM, in order to obtain a lucrative offer to play in one of the camel jockey leagues.
Personally, I'd welcome him. It's win win for both him and Iran. It costs us nothing to try him out and we're taking a player away from Japan's talent pool.
