I thought it would be cool to have a prediction contest for the Asian World Cup qualifiers round 2 to get everyone even more pumped up.

The prize for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be BRAGGING RIGHTS (triple, double, single)!


#1 - Point System (All Groups)

Group Winner: 3 points each > List 8
Group Runner-up: 3 points each > List 8
Top 4 2nd placed finishers: 3 points per correct team (no particular order) > List 4
Top 4 goal-scorers: 5 points per correct player (no particular order) > List 4
Top 3 Attacking Teams (most goals scored): 3 points per correct team > List 3
Top 3 Best Defensive Teams (least goals against): 3 points per correct team > List 3

Prediction Deadline, Item 1: June 10th, 2015


#2 - Point System (Iran's Group)
(For all games in Group D only)

Correct Score for each team: 2 points +
Correct prediction for winner or tie: 2 points

Maximum Points from each game: 6
Prediction Deadline, Item 2: The day before each game day


Other rules:

* Points from Item 1 and 2 will be added together and the 3 people with the highest points win.
* All predictions under Item 1 must be submitted at the same time (by June 10th).
* Predictions for all matches on the same match day for item 2 to be submitted at the same time.
* Goal-scorers are for the 2nd round only. In the event of ties for goal-scorers any guess from the tied players would be considered valid.
* In the event of ties for Top 3 Attacking/Defensive teams, any guess from the tied players would be considered valid.
* Use this Thread to make predictions. Please use the format given above.

Guys, the "Group Runner Up" and "Top 4 2nd placed finishers" are two different categories - I think you mixed them up together.

The Group Runner Up is a list of 8 teams, one for each group.

The Top 4 2nd placed finishers are the top 4 picks from your Runner-up list (i.e. the teams that qualify to the 3rd round of qualifying) - although you can pick different teams not in your list Runner-up list, if you think the race for 2nd spot may be close in some groups forexample.

Do you really think AJ can play a vital role in TM?

I think that he is a talented player who can cut in from the flanks successfully. Maybe it's just that he hasn't been used well. I guess it will his confidence a whole lot of good by playing and scoring against some of our 'lesser-experienced' opponents.
