I guess the only good news is that Hussein got more votes than expected. His main backing was from Europe, less Russia and Spain (51 votes max).

Australia, Canada, US and New Zealand had publicly broken with their confederations and of course Jordan which was expected to vote for him. So that was an extra 5 votes.

He mustered up an extra 17 votes which shows there is some frustration among other members who did not publicly back him.

My ultimate preference woulda been for this sham election to be delayed, next i woulda easily taken this Hossain clown over that corrupt, shroud mofo any day..! Now its much more difficult for US prosecutors to provide enough clear Proofs to unseat his presidency, and with him as the head honcho he will surely throw a ton of procedural blockades in order to curtail their inquiries into FIFA wrong-doings..!!
Maybe US Prosecutors made a tactical mistake by waiting that late in this game to bring forward their charges .??(they were going for the drama-points of arresting a bunch @once from their lux hotel) but Had they initiated these arrests a couple of weeks earlier, it woulda made the upset vote of Hossain-dude much more likely..!! but the late-timing of arrests, tells me that US's main goal of this whole ordeal was to bring into question the legitimacy of WC18 and especially derailing the Qatar's bid for 22 and snatching it up for themselves & they figured this Hossain dude as more difficult foe standing in the way of that ultimate goal..!!
with this Hossain dude winning (most likely a lucky, 1term election) it woulda taken him a long while to orchestrate his own trusted ring of scandalous, bribing gang within the FIFA organization, to go back to business as usual..!!
