Why do you think are some reasons we do not have players in Europe?

So now that the football season is finished pretty much around the world and in iran, I wanted to brainstorm some ideas from you guys and see what you guys think, why do you think are some reasons we do not have players in Europe? The transferee window will open this summer and I would like to hear from you guys

This season in Division 1 in Europe:

+Japan had 40 players in division 1 football (13 just in Bundesliga),

    +Korea had 11

+ Iran had 3 players ( Azmoun, Davari and Haghighi).

why do you think we can't get our players and motivate them to move abroad? I have some ideas but I wanted to know what you guys think!!

IMO politics has little to do with it. I am not saying it is not politically motivated, all I am saying is that it is not all the story.

Japanese and korean players are genetically made with an extra bone in their foot, so they are naturally more talented. So when European clubs look at iranian players, they say "oh ya they don't have that bone in their foot". It's too bad Hajsafi almost got away without the Korean and Japanese bone, but then the English govt found out and didn't give him the work permit.

      Abandoned youth development
      Amateur mentality
      Lack of motivation
      Premature financial saturation
      Poor mentor-ship
      Hashieh/hypes around players
Geographical location (Proximity to oil-rich states)

i think the primamry reason is money, back in the 1990s iran send alot of players to europe, cause iran paid very little and iran good players like daei, azizi, bagheri, kia went to europe to improve thier football and also money, but today players prefer the easy money in iran and then complain why they cant improve ,only 3 players so far have taken the risk to go europe for little money but to improve thier football,1. azmoun 2. jahanbaksh 3. saeid ezatollahi and we can see they are playing very well.

I think it's important to mention visa issues...

            Green = visa not required

            South Korean visa requirements

            Japan

            Iran

it has nothing to do with that, if that your example, singapore has a strong no visa policy so thier players must go europe easily, also a player going to europe need a work permit,so make no difference

Lack of motivation and backward mentality is the biggest thing.....I'm surprised the previous responders didn't touch on this too much, this is by far the biggest reason.

When playing in Iran, our better players (the one capable of going to Europe) get paid somewhere between 300 million to 8-900 million toman. So you figure that's somewhere around 1-300,000$

Now, when they begin to play even better....Persian gulf teams attack them with offers up to triple the amount they're getting paid in Iran. This will be far more than they'll earn in Europe and u fortunately with the money loving mentality our players have, of course much more often than not they go for the money rather than European option. This was the case for oladi, Kazemian, borhani, mobali, the young AK8, and many more.

We have the talent. Many many players have said it in the past and even more recently guys like ezzatolahi and JB have mentioned it too. Of course a better infrastructure would promote A hardworking mentality even more, so the grassroots need to make changes too. What mahdavikia is doing is a perfect example of how we can improve in that area.

Oh and one moe thing....a bit of racism is involved too. Might be a bold statement in some people's opinion but it's the truth. There is no reason the k league and j league exports numerous players to Europe annually when the PGL has just as much talent. The above of course plays the biggest role, but this is a small factor as well.

I do not think it has anything to do with visa and easy of movement among countries.

I think mentorship is the big problem. right now with the new list that CQ released most of those young players could easily start out in a small league like like greece, turkey etc and move up to bigger leagues

To be fair, Oladi went to Xerez and played several friendlies (and scored). They wanted him, but "paperwork" issues stopped him from going.

He went back to Malavan that year as well, so its not like he was chasing money anywhere.

                          Money
                          Poor advice
No Brand recognition (no one really knows Iranian players)
                          Selling price is high.
                          No marketing advantage
                          Incompetent/greedy agents

So many factors to discuss. Lots of players take easy money over hard work. With the advent of people like CR7/Neymar who are known showboaters off the field, they want that type of adoration. They cant stand to work up from the bottom and claw their up.

Also as sad as it is, economics does play a role. Many Asian players open up new markets for the teams that buy them. No Iranian in Iran would pay 80 euros and up to buy an authentic jersey from a team. And marketability is quite low
