We need to finish 1st. Japan in quarters will be deadly. Australia is much more preferred choice.

I don't understand how iranian players from their youth to the end of their career cannot do a clean pass. I am not talking about pass like Xavi but basic pass to their mates that is near.
How can Iran expect something in football if the players don't know the basic. It is like having a mathematician that isn't able to count until 10!!

So I have coached U9 through U17 ages, and have about 15 years of experience. I have done ad-hoc observations over the years about why this happens with some youth teams, and I have come to the conclusion that the problem you are referring to is a direct result of poor playing fields. I know most think it's because of poor coaching, but even if you throw bunch of youth players together without any coaching and let them practice and play on a good field, they will learn how to pass semi-properly on their own. But if you try to coach a youth team on a poor field, they will not learn how to pass the ball properly, no matter how hard you try. If you think about it, it's quite obvious why this happens. It's because passing on a poor field, especially in the back and mid-field, is quite dangerous. It is safer and more effective to "sikh" the ball from defense to offense.

So as Kiroush has complained, lack of proper fields is a major problem for our outdoor soccer. Note that our Futsal team does not have this passing problem. Why? Level surface fields from the time our youngsters learn the sport.

There is no "under" Iraqi team. Always "over."

Anyway, their cry-baby fans were posting on how referees are against them for giving two rightful penalties to Saudi. Wonder what they say when it's turn.

                        South Korea loses to Iraq
                        Australia loses to Kyrgzstan.

Wow. If we finish first in our group we could have an easy path to the WC

That's the important thing - finish first! Cause we will lose to Japan.
