I understand your point completely. Iranians standing on their own. That would happen in any system because Iranians in general are a cultured and hardworking people. They have been for centuries and they will for centuries after Islam. Islam had nothing to do with it.

Why is it hard to be a practicing muslim in UK? They have one of the largest Muslim populations, more extremist and uptight that in Iran. If you want to be a practising muslim what is holding you back? Is your family in the government in Iran? Uk?

so once a year you go to Iran and you attend a few hip parties, and from that you conclude that the Iranians are happy living under the islamic republic. You should live among the struggling working class people and then come back to us and report your findings.

The reason why I asked is so I can tell you that your opinion on Iran is irrelevant as you have never lived there and probably have no idea what it is like to work, go to school and try to be a member of that society. As an actual Iranian, who left Iran 9 months ago, I find your assumptions about us insulting and belittling. But you were raised in England and that is typical of English attitudes towards Iran, you guys think you know us because of a few trips and a few things you have read.

Why don't you go to Iran and do your sarbazi and then let us know how Iranians feel.

Mayeli-Kohan and Kashani are examples of people who should be nowhere near an Iranian national team at any age group. These guys are the embodiment of failure and incompetence... Whoever appointed them to their post needs to be investigated and reprimanded. I say directly send them your concerns via Twitter so they hear it.

there are many lies thrown around, but this one is actually not easy to lie about. Most of these students leave legally, and so the number of visas granted to undergrad and graduate students per year is available. This is not rocket science. Ofcourse some do go back, but at least I have not seen a single graduate or undergraduate student from Iran going back. It's a small sample size, but given that it is California, I should have seen at least ONE student go back. Also, if you are trying to find the 4 million Iranians, check the US, Canada, Australia, Europe, UAE, malaysia, and many other nations with high number of Iranian immigrants. There is a reason why we have home field advantage when our football team plays in many of these countries.

I hope I don't hurt feelings but I think the root of the problem is Islam. You hold your religion so dear, when instead you should be letting go and researching. Maybe another religion is the "right" religion? Or maybe there's no god at all? Until we Iranians realize the root of our problems, we won't prosper as a nation. That's just my two cents.
