I've always wanted him to go to Europe.

It's not the first time he's had offers from abroad.

With 69 caps and the age of 25, it's the perfect time to go to Europe.

I hope he accepts the offer.

One good season in Bochum and he can be picked up by a better team/league eventually
Their transfers have nothing to do with marketing in most cases. As I said before, my club Hertha BSC has two Jap players but we have no Jap sponsors and don't receive extra money by selling shirts and TV rights in Japan. Some people on here overrate Japan/Korea/China's purchasing powers too much. Bundesliga started to buy players from Japan because of Kagawa's super success. Other new Jap players (Uchida, Okazaki, Kiyotake, Hosogai etc) were successful, too. That's why Bundesliga keeps buying players from Japan. This summer Mainz even paid 4 million euros to a J-League club to sign a random Jap guy.

Same goes for us between 1990s-2000s. After Daei's successful stint at Bielefeld, other Iranian players also moved to Bundesliga.

Especially Hashemian really enjoyed there, scoring 10 goals in 2002/03 and 16 goals in 2003/04.

very realistic move for hajsafi. 2.Bundesliga is very competative and suits his playing style, certainly a much better league than juplier, one of the strongest 2nd leagues IMHO.

Been dreaming of Iranian players going back to HSV / Bochum / Hertha tbh. I would love for this to happen.

I'm happy for Hajsafi if it happens, but his quality won't come anywhere close to our golden generation players that played in Germany like Karimi, Mahdavikia, Hashemian, Bagheri

He'll be more than enough for Bochum in the second bundesliga / the lower end of the first bundesliga tbh.

If he wants to succeed at Bochum, the coach better not put him as a LB because let's be very honest here..today he was disappointing on that position.

I like him more as a midfielder.

Interview with the coach of VFL Bochum:

Cool, so now it's basically up to Ehsan himself, and the management of Sepahan if they have something to say, I'm not sure.

No the management can't say anything, his contract with Sepahan is finished end of June and he will be a free agent. This is why this move is quite likely to happen, except if he renews with Sepahan at the last minute. But he stressed the fact that he wants to play European football now

Khob, perfect. Then it is up to Ehsan, and we shall truly believe that he will take the offer.

You're right, Hajsafi is a true midfield player. Left back is not his natural position, just because he's left footed and there were no better options he's put there.
