UAE won their game and Australia's also winning their game. Singapore beat Cambodia 4-0, so they could very well be 2nd place contender for that group at this point along with Syria - that's not to say that Japan got a desirable result or the performance in that match is worthy of praise.

If we want to be the best team in Asia, then we need to compare ourselves to the teams that do well, not to the teams that perform poorly.

Just like every previous edition, we start off terribly, missing as many points as possible, and have to win our last few matches miraclously to advance to WC2018 once again.

I'll try my best not to bash the guy, but to be fair, he lost the ball in the same way about 10 times. He keeps his head down when running down the wings, and randomly stops and goes and turns trying to shake defenders, but he isn't fast enough to lose the defenders, so he either loses the ball, crosses right into the defender's body, or puts a random cross that is easily cleared by the opposing player.

I am not usually a critic of CQ, but today, I could tell that many of the newer players were lost. It is in part on the players themselves, but also partially on CQ. Unlike others who flip flop for and against CQ after every result, I'm not going to say anything bad. Today was a bad day. If it continues, then I will agree to reevaluate CQ as a head coach. I think he will bring Dejagah and Jahanbakhsh back and also maybe call up a new LB, which we sorely need.

I pray to god we get an actual decent LB on the team, and I will still suggest that CQ try out Radjabali-Fardi. We apparently don't have any players good enough to replace Pooladi, so it would make sense to invite the guy to one camp when his injury heals.

We are punished on our left side too often.

Having technical players like amiri and shojaei was of no use on such a horrible pitch. We played with no chemistry whatsoever but then again the team is in transition and we will improve. No need to panic. We really do need plenty of friendlies if we are to use young players in official matches. Regardless of the result, even if we had won the game this was our worst match in many years but we will improve and there is no way that we won't top the group, mark my words.

And just like typical Iranians, waiting to do everything in the last second...

We had three strikers in the box for the last 30 mins, but barely got a decent cross into the box. Not even set pieces. This is annoying.

lol come on abtin. turk played guam without the foreign based players because they were resting for the Iran clash. Guam beat India , possibly the worst team in the group! also keep in mind that Guam has played 2 games while Iran and Oman ( the two strongest team in the group) have both respectively played one. this is just match day 2.. please stop saying Guam will top the group because that will not happen also keep in mind that the game was supposed to be played in esghabad but they changed the location to dashabooz or whatever! the field sucked! you cant even put to low ground passess together because how sshitty the field was. dirty tactics go along way.

Sad that we tied Turkmenistan, although I'm positive that this game will be a good lesson for TM. Rather experience this shit sooner instead of later.

The only thing that worries me though is that Oman will win all their games, tie twice with Iran and top the group. And then Iran will be 2nd in group, which is very stressful considering only the top 4 2nd placed teams make it through.

Come on guys stop being so childish!
                    Germany- USA 1-2
                    Japan- Singapur 0-0
                    Northkorea- Uzbekistan 4-2
                    Colombia- Venezuela 0-1
                    Argentina- Paraguya 2-2
And not to forget how the Iran-Argentina game went!! The Stadium was full with argentina fans and we manage to hold on till the genius of
Messi, which will come in maybe 200 years again, decided the game. (Or Algeria vs Germany to give another example)

Such Games happen to every one! Turkmenistan shows quality in their offense made a nice goal!
Their pitch was just horrible and not made for quality football. It reminds me a bit on Real Sociedad Stadium
and Barca every time loose or drew them at this stadium. ( Not to compare Barca to TM but just want to point out that homeadvantage sometimes
                    made a big difference)

Furthermore u dont have to forget, that we build up a new Team with a lot of young inexpierenced player. Nekounam our leader since 2008
was not their, we missed also Dejagah, Seyed jalal Hosseini, Sadeghi etc.
Especially in set pieces and corners we were very weak without these players! I have also the feeling, that our organization in the defence gets weaker without Nekounam and
                    Seyed Jalal.
But to point out our positive things, we play much more fluid than before. We have new typ of players more technical and speedy. And it will take time before create
a TM with a specific Charackter! Just have patience.

                    Tactical Point:
As i said before our Oponnent have quality in their offense but a not well balanced and organized defense. A good Gameplan, that we show in the first 20 min, is to
press them upfront that will cause individual mistakes as we see a lot of them duiring the game.
It prevent that the ball get to their offense and simultaneously give us chances to score. -> Turkmen defense and offense is not well balanced.
But as it comes their score a nice goal, had the home advantage, a difficult pitch and also a bit of luck.

                    Consequence:
We should learn from this game and looking forward to the guam game at Azadi! But dont destroy everything that we achieved by one game!
We are in an Erection phase.
                    optimistic!

complacency and too many changes to our usual team cost us a point today..!!
but we will be all right in the long run..!! i smell a raping on the return match..!
we are in beginning of Generational Change in TM..!! so these sort of occasional haphazard performances are to be expected

I hope the one lesson that has been learnt in this game is that the Hajsafi/Amiri combo on the left side is not going to work for us going forward.

The worst part about Hedari playing 90 minutes is not his horrible crosses or dribbling, it's that he prevented Vouria from running down the flank and doing what he does best.

We saw a glimpse of that in the last 5 minutes, but it was too late.

What will you say if Guam gets maximum points from opponents, and lucky points against Iran? why should they not be able to to that? I bet they are more predictable than the clown show we witnessed from these headless chickens today..

I dont see the point of posting results from other games. If Japan played 0-0 against Singapore what does it have to do with us??? Does that make our performance better? This is typical iranian "to blame someone else" mentality.

Person A did something bad, so now person B can justify the same action
