Who where the bright spots?

I watched a summary and I saw Iran destroying Turkmenistan the first 20 minutes. But how did the players perfomance?

The players were average/below average, nothing special, not that terrible either. With the right gameplan, even a below average performance should've been enough to win against Turkmenistan. We approached the game wrong, that was the problem in my eyes.

I thought that Montazeri and Kanani were quite safe and compensated the mistakes that were made on the wings. Azmoun was very active in the game and scored our goal

All the rest were poor. Hajsafi was the worst. Even a 9 year old knows playing him as a LB destroys his game.

You say: Uzbeks beaten by North Korea so our victory and performance against them can be forgotten.

I say: following on from that logic, Argentina couldn't beat Paraguay and Chile couldn't beat Mexico B so our performances and results against them can also be forgotten.

If you watch it again with the calmness of knowing the result you can concentrate better, it was one of those games where Iran couldn't find the final pass or final shot in the final 3rd. On another day TM could've had 3. Just take it on the chin and move on.

Ando does not fit in captain position. He is a great player...but he just doesnt fit into the captain position. I think that overall it is a burden for him and is effecting his performance. I respect Ando commitment to TM and his passion. He is a good role model but he is no Alpha wolf.

That will be my rating of the entire team and coaching staff for this match. If this was an exam, they would not only have failed, but been dismissed from the school because of disrespect to the art of education.
