Pouladi was lost to the Sarbzi fiasco and with Beikzade not in form, we really don't have other options that fit in CQ's plans. Jamaati is a good LB for IPL but he's more like a winger that at times helps the defense. It doesn't solve the problem we have with Hajsafi.

As for Shojaei, CQ has Rafiei, Abdollahzade and Bakhtiar Rahmani in mind as his replacements. Out of those three, the last one is injured and the other two are sidelined for sarbazi issues thanks to a certain "legend" that threw a bunch of young players under the bus after losing to Foulad last year. Rafiei is the one CQ really wants and he personally offered to go and argue the case for him and of course the hezbols rejected him. He does not trust Nouri in that position, and given how that guy single-handedly lost some games for Perspolis in ACL, I can't blame CQ.

Why did we constantly cross from the right wing
We took that route repeatedly because Turkmenistan was vulnerable to it. When the other team has clogged up the middle... you have a forward who is good in the air... and your opponents not only let you send in cross after cross from the side but are also weak enough in the air to give your attackers countless free headers, of course you keep exploiting that weakness. The reason it didn't produce a goal wasn't because the opponent had neutralized it; they were actually very vulnerable and every cross seemed to create a chance. It didn't work because our guys kept wasting one free header after another. Many went over the bar, one hit the bar and the others were saved. But it definitely created the opportunities to put the game away.

With these experimental line ups I am doubtful of any result. Iran might even tie Guam in the next match. Carlos Q is supposed to have figured out the new team composition during the friendlies, not while playing official games.

Since 2006 every one keeps saying not only will TM make it to the WC, they will make it to the second round. As far as I am concerned, let's just progress 1 match at a time. If we make it to the WC and show a first round exit, have we really made progress? Let's win this group, then against stiffer competition (no disrespect to Guam or Turkmenistan intended) we will see how we stack up. Given that we are "transitioning" our team, I think 2nd round in 2018 is far from guaranteed.

The away against Turkmenistan was only a game without PAG, Alireza, Dejagah, Rafiei and Pouladi. And the players had just a bad day. People need to calm down (I don't mean you).

Sir I admire your love for TM. However, to make such a statement it needs to be followed by some family lineage shambol cutting. Otherwise no guarantee to what you say.
                EAT. SLEEP. TM. REPEAT.

He is better than all Iranian coaches but we need a better coach if we want to develop our football. CQ showed us how to defend, train and organize a team but he is not good in planing different tactics in the field and he avoid technically gifted players for physically stronger ones this shows why we have Hashem Beikzadeh and Heydari in our team and not the likes of Khalat bari, Nariman Jahan, or Sadeghian (only technically wise not his behavior)... He gave up on creativity and play making to have a stronger defense.

If you think I am wrong please come and explain with reason.
                  U make some valid points
But your must be even more delusional to think IFF is actually capable of upgrading on CQ ..! lol

What do you mean? All they need to do is pay the same money (even less) and buy another foreign manager who is as good as CQ if not better. I don't understand why they won't be capable of doing so.

No, I am fully aware of our state of being. CQ is in constant battle with IFF and they are giving our team hard time. CQ is using media outlet to bash IFF but it has double effect picturing Iran as a savage country in whole. Next CQ have nothing new in team strategy. He is only following the same shit he has been doing in past 15 years. He is a good manager and youth scout but not a good coach. Our own traditional football (late 1990s up to 2006) is more enjoyable and can easily walk over teams like Turkmenistan, Guam, India or even Oman. We need to bring a European coach anyway why not do it sooner. A Croat coach can help us in this and third round much better than CQ. CQ is done as a coach. He has nothing more under his sleeves. He only can introduce some young kids to the squad and that is it.

If you do not believe me then hear it from Portuguese fans who know him.

                      These are direct quotations.

                      1. "We had him for like 2 years?

One or two attackers, the rest defend"

                      2. "I don't think he's a good coach nor a good strategist, but apparently he's a really good manager. I mean, he must have been Sir Alex's second in command for a reason, right? The best, or only good thing he made while he was our NT coach was reforming the whole youth team structure, I think he even brought back Portugal's B team to give some experience to some new prospects who weren't u21 anymore.

He also debuted a large number of players, I guess that came as a consequence of the aforementioned restructuring, but his team was indeed way to defensive and lacking in ideas on the attack."

                      3. "Queiroz is an excellent youth scout and manager. Only that.
As a coach he is incredible defensive. In his term Ronaldo managed to score 2 goals in 2 entire years if im not mistaken, all because he played him alone out there. His incredible "tactic" in 2010 World Cup was 10 man defending and give the ball to Ronaldo kick it from the distance due the trickness of Jabulani.

Yes, im not kidding, this led him to have a fierce discussion with Deco during the tournament (making him only play the first match), and with Ronaldo after the loss to Spain, where we played our most pathetic game in history."

CQ or not CQ, is it really the point?

What we need is infrastructure and discipline.
When we look at how well far the KIA academy young boys have been able to perform recently, we have here an evidence of potential waste.
There are so many talents there but nothing to frame their career.

Do we really deserve to play in the World Cup? (excluding the Argentina game), Do we play good football? Do we pass the ball well? Do we have any creative players like we did in the past (Karimi)? We play ultra-defensive football which is boring to watch from a neutral point of view (Nigeria game, Asian cup except for Iraq game).

Imo, UAE plays much better football than us and if it wasn't for our political problems with that country, I would've wished for them to qualify to the WC. They play great football, they have Amoory who imo, is the best Asian talent.

Maybe, by 2018 we will have improved our game and play better football...
