I'm actually not aware of the situation, but why would they not allow women to attend the match??

I cannot for the life me understand the reasoning behind this move.

Is irib not allowed to show women on TV, cause they afraid it will arouse the akhounds watching??

What requirements of allowing fully clothed women to support their country does not meet with the pillars of islam?

BTW, for those people who follow the religion please don't take offence to my statements. I'm not mocking the religion, but I'm mocking IR's interpretation of the religion.

Oooh no, did you insult Islam?! Watch out, AminGP, the grand speaker of Islam and freedom is coming for you!!

And to answer your question: it's an Islamic republic. Enough said.

I thought I made it clear that in no way did I intend to insult islam, but merely question IR's interpretation of Islam.

I genuinely hope I did not offend anyone.

From what i heard from the people in Iran, it is because of the language of the fans. My father said that the fans make a lot of namoosi comments. Just read some instagram comments after we lose a tm game and u know what i am talking about.

Your father is almost right.....because calling the comments namoosi is just too nice.
It's a fact that from all PFDC members only a few had the opportunity to attend a match inside Iran.
If you guys would only knew what is going on there, in no way you would want your sister, mom, aunt, wife or girlfriend ever set a single foot there.

We need to fix our fan culture aka "janbeh" first, then we can talk about letting women in.
IRI's politics is no different than handling a pressure cooker ..... As the pressure builds up, you slowly let the steam out just a tad bit so that you don't see overflow, and once the pressure from below is less, you put the lid down again and raise the temperature.

I attended games on a weekly basis in both Amjadieh and Azadi. The swearing excuse is highly exaggerated.
I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.

After the ban was put in place. Thus the reasoning for the ban already existed when I attended and it certainly could not have been swearing.

Well good morning to you. The Islamic Republic has zero respect for the Iranian people, they violate our human rights everyday, they are second in child executions behind China, and the list goes on and on, why would their broadcast channels have any respect for Iranians? Dighe az in harfa gozasht baradar.

I didn't say the ban is because of the swearing but the hardly existing janbeh. Women get will get harrassed and touched in a packed stadium.

Well you mentioned the namoosi comments so that's what I assumed you meant.
I doubt it's because of not having janbeh. After all the stadium was mixed before 1979 and still is currently during Iranian sports events outside Iran. Any potential touching or harassment could also happen in the street. My opinion is that the separation is because of preventing the mixing of guys and girls similar to schools, buses, etc.

The purpose of not mixing guys and girls is clear. My opinion is that the majority of iranian men INSIDE Iran hardly have janbeh.
Before allowing women to attend a sport event with heated temper, men must learn to interact with women in other envirnoments which is new to them: school, swimming hall etc.

for soccer or volleyball? for soccer it is out of control. it is almost going on constantly, some of the worst and most ridiculous swear words I have ever heard. you can even hear through the TV cameras the whole crowd shout "k*rrrr" at IPL matches after each time the other side gasps at a close shot. people get really riled up and i myself at times felt unsafe there because you could feel people are on edge/about to go crazy, especially when the visiting team is winning or when there are ethnicity differences (e.g. when traktor visits).

I lived in Iran for a long time. What I saw and experienced was very different than your opinion. Of course you will find jerks but it's not like a woman cannot freely walk around without being harassed or touched. On a bus packed to the max it was likelier a woman would be offered a seat by a seated man than her getting touched.

Soccer. I saw exactly two incidents in the many games I attended. One was a 10 second group chant of "malavan k... nanat" by Persepolis fans which I wouldn't have even noticed if my friend hadn't pointed it out to me. The second was an Esteghlal fan during a friendly game against Grasshopper of Switzerland who would curse out the ref anytime he wouldn't call an alleged foul. And in this case the fans shut him up after he kept doing it.
This isn't any worse than what you see and hear on the streets. If things were as bad as we make it I'm sure there would have been more than 2 incidents in all the years I went to games.
