So that you got something to ask about..

Some of us are football interested and these are interesting posts simple. He is iranian even if he plays for Shotor morgh FC

Ok, thank you for your post but I asked Kiarash the question. Im not trying to mock him, im just trying to understand the big admiration for Hasegawa.

I can answer this as to why I still care about Hasegawa.

1.) He is still Iranian as Zamboor said above.
2.) Dejagah, for years, implied that he would not choose Iran over Germany, but when he faced the idea of not every playing senior International football, he gave in to join Iran.
3.) CQ has wanted Hasegawa in the past, and if his form is good at Zaragoza, CQ will try even harder to get him.
4.) Hasegawa's father said that Aria wanted to play for TM, but the citizenship issue was the only obstacle.
5.) Hasegawa is at an age where Honda/Kagawa will be starting for Japan in his position until he retires. He has a minuscule chance of ever having a productive international career with Japan.
6.) If he is desperate enough, and he is wanting to try and be an international footballer, Iran is really his only choice. He might have had the intent of retaining his Japanese citizenship in hopes to make the team, but now that Iran is his only option, he may be inclined to give up his citizenship.
7.) He can give up his citizenship for a few years to play for TM until he retires, and be treated like a star in Iran while living in Spain to play for Zaragoza. He has connection to Japanese teams and can easily go back to Japan when he is near retirement, play for a team, and have his citizenship back after retiring from TM and living in Japan for 5 years. His citizenship won't be gone forever.

I honestly don't think playing for TM would completely destroy Hasegawa's life in Japan. I think he was afraid to give up his citizenship, because he is born and raised in Japan, and is entitled to securities and benefits in Japan. I think if CQ makes clear to him that his citizenship issues will only be temporary for a few years while he plays for TM, it is very likely that Aria will choose to join Iran.

It's not as you seem to be thinking that Hasegawa said "screw Iran!" He said that he cannot choose Iran due to the citizenship issue. If he is assured that his citizenship issue won't be permanent, he will be inclined to join Iran. Who wouldn't want to join a world cup caliber team over not playing any international football.

I have a feeling Aria will be in the next list, and he will join TM in the near future. That's why I feel like topics on him should be allowed.

Hopefully he will look at other players who did the same and look where that took them. Based on the last few seasons, Zaragoza looks likely to promote to La Liga next year. Zaragoza this year is in the position, Las Palmas was last year. As a result, I think if Zaragoza promotes, Hasegawa would be staying there. Especially since he stuck with his team in Japan even when they relegated, he seems like a loyal guy. I doubt he'd up and run for the money if he is doing well at Zaragoza. If he is just used once or twice and has a Daniel Davari like year though, it is always a possibility that he'd go to drill some oil in the middle east if he is on TM. If Davari were still being called up to TM, I'm fairly sure he would have been getting offers from Qatar as well.

Aria has made an official Twitter account and said he was thankful for Iranian sources to report his presentation at Zaragoza:

Aria dropping hints. Jokes aside, he probably doesn't have a future at Japan NT and should start looking somewhere else.....

Does him choosing to go with Aria on his jersey have meaning behind it? I'm starting to think he is going to be our guy in this WC campaign. Having him playing behind Azmoun sure sounds good. He can actually feed him straight threw passes that can lead to a lot of goals. Knowing CQ he must be on to this guy as we speak.

                      ARIA for WC18!!

I certainly think it's easier to pronounce than Hasegawa, like Masoud chose his first name rather than Shojaei

Oh God, this is the worst kind of behavior...

For a while, people were saying Dejagah was more German than Iranian. I despise this xenophobic fear of outsiders. It truly makes me sick.

Aria can be both Iranian and Japanese. I am Iranian, born in America, and I love both Iranian and American culture. Obviously I love TM more than USMNT.

Also, his father stated that Aria wanted to play for TM, but there was a citizenship issue on the JAPANESE end for his not joining. Once that is figured out, you can be sure that Aria will be in a TM uniform, and guys like you will be kissing his a** just like you did with Dejagah and Gucci.

Some of you need to grow up, and notice how you are being hypocrites.
