Do we call Iran's Beach Soccer team "Beach Melli"?
We are currently witnessing a revolution in Iranian football. Team Melli has never been stronger than it is today, and we will only get better.

Great match to watch. However Iran gave away too many fouls which subsequently led to a red card. They also gave away 2 goals from free kicks. If the boys can play more carefully to avoid giving away bad fouls, they can definitely go far in this tournament.

don't misunderstand me, i don't judge wrestling, volleyball or beach soccer/futsal but it is sad to see Iran is only good in sports that nobody cares globally. I didn't even find easily an article about Spain/Iran on marca...

The match is going to be replayed on TSN one of Canada's two biggest sport channels. That's a pretty big deal here.

The importance of beach football is highlighted by the half empty turnout for a match between world-cup runners up and the top team in Asia.

What adds salt to the wound is that all matches are free!! This is not in Qatar or UAE, its hosted by Portugal a nation with a football culture.

Wrestling, Volleyball, beach soccer....those are three sports that we excel on worldwide level. Some nations dream of excelling in at least one sporting event. Plus, there are a lot of people following volleyball and wresting.

Any sport which doesnt have a lot of money involved in it is successful in Iran, thats because there is less corruption and band bazi in those sports, that is the main reason we see our futsal, beach football, volleyball etc. teams succeed while our football team dsnt

I know these sports are less popular than association football. But as YeCheesi explained, most countries in the world dream of being in the top of at least one sport. Iran is on the top of multiple sports. Sure, they are not as popular as the football we all know.

But I have a question. Apart from football, what else is more popular on global level than sports such as volleyball / wrestling?
