A friend of mine plays for U16 of Hamburg and he told me some information about Mahdavikia:
- He is really friendly
- He does a individual training for forwards from U9 to U18.
Every player at HSV has a individual lesson while he (my friend) as a Defensive Midfielder gets his individual training from ex Mehdi Teammate Bastian Reinhardt.
- While he told me that another friend said " Why does Mahdavikia help your strikers, wasn't he a defender?"
My friend replied in refering to the Juventus game and that Mahdavikia has huge calves ^^

In my opinion thats really intresting that he has this function within the team. In Iran there is no individual training for young players with professionals. I remember Taha Zareei told me that at his time at Esteghlal he did most of the training himself and I hope that Mahdavikia can help with the transition of this german style of Youth support in Iranian Football.

If they made statues in Iran for legendary Iranian football players, his statue better be there and be clean and take care of.

I can't say enough about how much this player meant to us and means to all of us. He is a legend. No doubt. He deserves the best of everything for all that he has done for our football in the past or present.

You're correct, the first source I saw had incorrect info. He's the Assistant.
