IMHO Football players, like every other employee of every other organization, should stay away from making overtly political statements for the sole reason that politics divides people.
That's even more of an issue for football players, because football is supposed to bring together. Everyone is of course entitled to their opinions, but one has to be smart about where, when and how they express them.
This is one of the reasons our players have a hard time going to Europe and Gucci is a perfect example. I don't recall him doing this type of stuff when he was playing in Belgium. He spends a little bit of time in Iran and around the Persian Gulf and priorities and being smart about what you do go right out the window.
At any rate, what's done is done. I hope he comes to his senses and considers the repercussions of his actions in the future, for his own good/
