Hopefully he will be able to sign with a better team, it is good news but I do not like Championship league at all and I think Reza would be better suited and more successful in Holland. He should continue to work hard I am sure he can do better .
That they want to extend his contract makes sense, because a player of his calibre is too good to be playing in League One which Charlton will maybe relegate to...
So long he doesn't go to some shitt Ayrab league it's fine by me. ..!
Don't think he has many other European suitors ..!? Even if so, I doubt any of them would offer him a more lucrative offer than what CAFC supposedly has on table ..!?
CAFC are looking to add one more Striker before this transfer window closes..! If they fail, (likely Due to lowball offers) then surely won't allow him to leave & will give him an improved contract for another season or two. ..! ?

Yeah, true. I am sure the bottom Eredivisie teams are all over him, because most of them would love to have a very opportunistic striker like Reza because he would score many goals against not so strong Eredivisie defenders. Willem II did an offer quite recently but he had a knee injury so it didn't went through. Plus, his old club Cambuur Leeuwarden lost their main striker and sold them to the concurrent, I think they will try to convince Reza to come back to help them stay in the league. The point is rather, these low ball Eredivisie teams are not as lucrative as any Championship team.

Looks like Reza is potentially getting a new contract, he himself had stated this, in an interview with his old club cambuur strangely enough, where he seems to be held in real high regard. My translator came up with it being a 7 year contract, but I'm just purely interpretating that as an error.

There are few players who made such a dazzling debut as Reza Ghoochannejhad. The attacker, who grew up in Leeuwarden debuted in late 2010 for SC Cambuur and made in the home game against BV Veendam nine seconds after his first goal. After his stay in Leeuwarden was Ghoochannejhad to include Sint-Truidense VV and Standard Liege under contract, he came to Iran from the World Cup in Brazil and he settled in the football mecca: London.
Although it's been nearly five years since leaving Ghoochannejhad at SC Cambuur, he still has strong ties with the club and the city. "I still have two each season, three season tickets for SC Cambuur so my family and friends watch the home games can go and I can also keep up to date. This way I'll stay always connected with SC Cambuur. I do not come very often in Leeuwarden because I simply did not have enough time, but in the summer I always come back to see family and friends again, "says the 28-year-old attacker.
"I still have a very special relationship with SC Cambuur and always will," added the 28-fold Iranian international. "I'm from childhood grew up in SC Cambuur Leeuwarden so I carry in my heart forever. I do not see any more games, but I do every weekend what SC Cambuur has done. "A return to the club where he scored sixteen times in 41 games, he does not close completely. "I only have one and a half year to play for SC Cambuur but I've been so really enjoying myself at that time that I always look back with good feelings to my time in Leeuwarden."
Experiences in other countries
Ghoochannejhad came two years ago in Iran from the World Cup in Brazil. Iran was eliminated in the group stage, but made his three opponents pretty difficult. The Iranians so held out against Nigeria (0-0) and they lost against Argentina until the last minute of the match with a goal from Lionel Messi. Against Bosnia-Herzegovina scored Ghoochannejhad, making him the first (former) Cambuur player was who scored at the global finals.
"As a little kid you dream of to ever play in a World Cup. I consider myself very fortunate that I have had this opportunity and I have to score at the World Cup in Brazil, which is Ghoochannejhad something nobody can take away from me ", says of his time in Brazil. "It was a tremendous experience and I have been able to greatly develop in football because I can measure myself with the best players in the world."
Since 2014, Ghoochannejhad under contract with Charlton Athletic, which opens onto the second English level. The British rented it twice: Al Kuwait SC and Al-Wakrah. This season, however, the Iranian attacker gets another opportunity at the club from the Championship, where he has an expiring contract. "The club has already expressed their wish to extend my contract by several years. I feel very flattered and obviously the intention to start talks soon. But in football everything can change in a glance so we'll see what the future holds for us. "
Friese derby
Ghoochannejhad went through a lot of the youth of sc Heerenveen and made his first minutes with the club in professional football. "I know the culture, the people and the whole club through and through. I always look back with mixed feelings to my period at Heerenveen. In total'm not vindictive set as a person but I have a feeling that I never got a fair chance at Heerenveen. On the other hand, I myself also not taken out everything that was in it. I am grateful to them for all the training I received there because that has helped me a lot for the rest of my career. "
Sundays, in the Cambuur Stadion Cambuur and SC Heerenveen against each other: two old clubs Ghoochannejhad. The attacker has never played the Frisian Derby. "But I know how much it lives among the supporters. I have naturally followed in recent years. I watched the matches always with a yellow-blue glasses. I hope the three points to stay in Leeuwarden because they always count double in the Derby. "

Ill say this again. Reza should go to France. He already showed that he can play well against African stars and France is home to most African players. He can do decent playing over their. Going back to Holland is a bad idea. Edresive is a young league and no place for him to showcase his game.
"History is a set of lies that people have agreed upon,"
Charlton just signed Arsenal's Yaya Sanogo on loan so that pretty much will limit Guccis playing time
If Sanogo plays, he needs to play in a pair. He's a lanky fucker with the presence of a newborn giraffe. Everything about his play is disruptive and chaotic, which can be very effective (he pretty much won Arsenal their first trophy in a decade) but if he's by himself it'll be a nightmare for Charlton. I don't see him as competition for Gucci necessarily, I think the two could work together though. Then again, Charlton have other forwards that seem to be slightly favored atm
it was pretty much expected that they will add another striker before the transfer deadline as they shipped off 3 recently (Watt, Vaz Te, KAG) and they are in a major relegation battle for the rest of the season, having horrible Goal differential to boot..!
Riga favors the 442 and even if he lines up a different formation, he still seem to stays with 2 strikers throughout the game..!
i havent seen Sanogo in action so not so sure of his quality..!!? he is tall so figured him for another hold-up striker like big Mackinok.? but based on lml's post and his geeky photo with his big asss glasses , not so sure he can handle the abuse and punishment of the championship CBs..?? before this apparently he was out on loan at Ajax and he hardly managed any playing minutes in weak-asss Eredivisie..!!? so hum...??
CAFC are still lacking depth and quality in Winger and AM position and so far Riga seems to favor Reza as a 2nd half sub, in a sorta free role, playing mostly wing and/or drop-back #10 sorta forward..??
i think so long he keeps his efforts levels up in training and matches, he will keep getting decent minutes off the bench and perhaps a few starts if injuries and exhaustion take its toll, which surely will...!!
