I hate to admit, because Mazloumi isn't my first choice of course, but Esteghlal has been surprisingly good in the first two games.

A lot of attacks, even when we're in front by a goal or two. Some really nice patient building up of attacks going forward, even starting from our defense.

The players not losing their heads after big referee mess-ups...they just pick up their game again and keep on going!

I'm quite surprised (bezanam be takhte)!

The only thing that has to improve is the finishing because we have been messing up a lot of great chances so far!
Persian Pride running through my veins!

    Esteghlal for life!!

How much of that responsibility do you believe is on the line of defence to start the attacks accordingly. The reason why I ask because thats the line thats seen the most change since last year.

I hate to agree with you on SS, but it's true. I said it earlier in the thread. Their offensive attacks, that were right down the middle were very dangerous and quick. A lot of them reminded me of TM's 2nd goal against Chile, one touch passing.

It also allowed room to open up on the wings for the cross that led to the 1st goal.

But that's not to say that this will last, we will see what happens as the season progresses.

Nice shot by karimi. He's been really solid for sepahan these last few years and he's only born in 94. Surprising that he doesn't even have a single cap for tm.

Its a game of chest. Real managers will review their opponents and adjust to their next fixture.

You mean chess, right? What were you thinking of while you wrote this?

I didn't get your quote initially because the first thing that came to my mine was a chest like a sandogh/box!

Interesting how Heydari played some of today's game in a sort of "free" role in the middle. Kind of like TM vs Turkmenistan, except this time it worked Heydari was great today

My guess is that it is only a matter of time before Sepahan's Ali Karimi is brought to TM as well. He is among the best DM's we have in the league ATM with Ebrahimi.

Iran has an abundance of quality DMs at the moment: Teymourian, Ezatolahi, Ebrahimi, Nourollahi, and Karimi. However, before they join the senior team, the U-23 Asian Cup should be a good testing ground for the likes Ezatolahi, Nourollahi, and Karimi.

My gut feeling tells me we'll fail to qualify once again to the Olympics (mainly due to the incompetence of the coaching staff and management team). That would be a real shame considering the wealth of talent available at the U-23 level (Ezatolahi, Nourollahi, Karimi, Jahanbakhsh, Azmoun, Mohammadi, Kanaani, Abdollahzadeh, etc.).
