There is really no excuse, none whatsoever, not to get maximum points from two matches, if not two VERY convincing wins, one against a mostly amateur side at home and the other against the bottom placed team in the group (home or away).

Also, let's not forget that for all intents and purposes we have a world class coach going up against two coaches whose claim to fame is having coached the likes of Nepal, Rwanda, Sudan, Bahamas and the Virgin Islands.

Nor should we lose track of the night and day difference in the class and level of talent at the disposal of these respective coaches: Ashkan is literally worth more (i.e. has a higher market value) than the entire squads of India and Guam combined.
well said. Hopefully the game against Turkmenistan was a WAKE UP call for TM to take things seriously and HAMMER in our remaining games.

Guam! Seriously!!! ... can some please change the subject!

.. I am getting tired of this usual "Fear mongering" any time we face a 5th rated team! .. we never show confidence, and that is not just by our players, our spectators are worse!!

For those of you who don't even know where Guam is, here is a satellite view of the whole country. Hardly enough space there for more than two-three football fields!! :-)

even more simply put: if we don't win both these games comfortably we don't deserve to be in WC2018

We've had quite a few braces (two goals), but didn't Javad score a hat-trick against Lebanon a couple of years ago in the Asian Cup qualifiers?

Looking at Guam, they have improved but their quality is still very poor, in their squad they have:
8 players in Guam Premier League
4 players in PDL (USA 4th division)
2 players in USL (USA 3rd division)
2 players in NCAA Div I (USA Top College division)
                            1 player in MLS
                            1 player in Mongolian League
1 player in Thai Premier League
1 player in Hong Kong Premier League
1 player in NPL (2nd Division Australia)
                            1 player in Armenian League

I'm just going off the top of my head, but didn't Kazemian get a hat trick against Palestine in a friendly, during CQ's time?

Also, already mentioned, Nekou vs Lebanon.

EDIT: Nvm, Kazemian scored 2 and drew 2 penalties.
